Theres only one person on LSN that has heard anythign though so I dont know about that...

icarter heard from them, the profile is simply not updated. It seems obvious, even from only two responses (both in Eugene) that Oregon sent out their first acceptances on Friday. Therefore, given that mail was not delivered on Sunday, it usually takes about two days for USPS first class to go from Eugene to all of Oregon, most of CA, ID, and WA. If you don't receive anything it doesn't mean you aren't in. It just means you weren't among the very first acceptances.

Would you consider UofO over UW? I'm in a similar boat in terms of acceptances, but I am pretty set on UW. Oregon, Colorado, or Davis could potentially sway me with a lot of money, but I think that is unlikely to happen.

I'm in a bit of a bind because no matter where I go, I will have to practice in western Oregon (family obligation). It seems like UW will have no trouble opening doors in Oregon, but there's the bar thing, as well as housing and the like during summer internships. When I pull up bios of law firms in the Portland/Eugene area, even masssive, what I would assume count as BigLaw firms, I see that sometimes as many as half to 2/3 of their lawyers are LC or UO grads. Willamette is also very well represented, too. So, I want to avoid paying too much for law school, but then I want to take advantage of a school's rep. I want to go to the best school that's accepted me, but is that just vanity? I'm sure I would get an excellent education at the three Oregon schools. Sigh... this is where I'm at. Oh, and I applied for a scholarship at Gonzaga that could potentially mean a full ride there. In the universe of problems, I recognize I'm quite fortunate. Still, I'm agonizing about decisions.

it looks like it... on LSN most of the people that recieved acceptances sent their application in october or november...

So if their average award is around $8000 dollars, why is almost everyone on LSN only getting 1-3K worth of scholarships?

If you are talking about the US News & World Report average award, it also figures in need-based aid, such as loan offers, I believe.

While most people receive those smaller scholarships, a few people receive nearly full tuition awards. That will drive the average up a lot. A better guess of what to expect would be the median award, which is probably about $2,000 per year (just an educated guess).

In w/ $4K/year Dean's scholarship. Definitely not enough to lure me away from the almost full ride I have at Lewis and Clark, but my UO Law alum relatives will KILL me if I don't at least try to leverage more money with them.

I just don't think they have the funds to hand out the big bucks.
