Well that's no fun lol

Seriously though, there are times when I wish I never knew TLS/LSN/Reddit existed for these things. When I took the LSAT the first time I had never heard of grey day and got my score a day or two after it had been sent because I wasn't frantically checking my email over the summer. There was just so much less stress. But now that I know all these resources and communities exist I can't stop myself from obsessing.

^ agreed, it sucks when you see people get movement when you don't. If you weren't following TLS you wouldn't even know what was happening. Ignorance is skmetimes bliss. But on the flip side, this site is important to know what to do and what to expect, etc. so it's a double edged sword.

However, there is no need to panic about any of these small changes anymore. If your status doesn't change, you can just email them later.

I'm operating under the assumption that I will not hear anything from them, and that will be the case for most people as well. Doesn't mean that I won't put all of the effort that I possibly can into it :)

It is also nice for things like that accidental admitted students event invite... If I hadn't been prepared for that I probably would have gotten my hopes up and then been devastated.

Also we all got Wl'd at the same time (in my wave) so I kind of knew I wasn't getting dinged before I got the email, which was a huge relief.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but did people receive any sort of confirmation (other than going ACWL) after submitting the waitlist response form?

this post is strictly to help future applicants who search and stumble upon this thread:
please do not freak out if you are not ACWL right away; the first to go ACWL did so at 2:00pm today, while I went ACWL at 3.

Hi everyone,

Checking in with a few questions. (Just to clarify I got the waitlist email on the 27th so the same time as most of the people on this thread.)

If I want to send in another letter of rec, should I just go through LSAC and they'll automatically send it to NYU?
Also, for resume updates, it seems that most people are directly emailing NYU; is this def the recommended method?
Finally, being the paranoid person I am, how likely is it that I would get rejected off the waitlist before I get a chance to send in updated materials (Essentially before the week is over)?

Best of luck to everyone on the waitlist!

Curious about this too, if it's a 4th one.

I would absolutely submit the new LOR through LSAC. LSAC will send it to NYU. If you send it yourself, you've seen the material and it's devalued.

I think if they're internal to the institution tho it's fine if they send it directly (i.e. If it's a professor within NYU) but I agree it shouldn't go thru you

okay, obviously the ACML thing is making me very obsessive, but here is the question!
"The date went to ACML does not matter very much right? some on 4/26, some on 4/28 and some on 5/1"
i definitely sent my form on 4/26. but got ACML today, WHAT DOES TI MEAN? WHY THERE COULD BE DELAYS?

Sorry, panic talking.

I haven't gone ACWL and I'm tempted to fill out the WL form again even though I KNOW I ALREADY SUBMITTED IT TWICE

Quick question...I had already sent in my max amount of LORs and I am not seeing a place on LSAC to submit more. Should I have the authors send them directly to NYU? Thoughts?

(Also...what is ACWL?)

Anyone feel like the only thing NYU cares about is whether you write in an email/LOCI that you'll definitely attend if admitted off the waitlist?

From a guy who wrote a long LOCI himself and sent in additional info, I feel like the only thing it'll come down to is: LSAT, GPA, and commitment. That's it.

Obviously this is just conjecture. If you feel differently let me know, it'll make me feel better about spending time on my LOCI lol

And pls don't quote

I felt that might be the case, so I noted at the end that I would accept an offer off the waitlist.

I'd contact admissions and ask how they would prefer that to be handled.

ACWL = Applicant confirmed on waitlist
It's the status update you get after DLS if you agree to the waitlist.

Give it awhile. I was panicking when I saw the pre-edit text and then I changed to ACWL. You confirmed a day after me. Seems like they're rolling through the confirmation list.
Yes, this is correct. I believe I confirmed to stay on the waitlist the minute I received the WL email. So presumably, I went ACWL on 5/1 because I confirmed very early. I have not sent in a LOCI, because I haven't gotten to it yet. But I will very soon.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
