Re: George Washington c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
GW undergrad alum here.
Rejected yesterday.
Feels bad, man.
I've already taken a year off after undergrad, and I've been rejected everywhere so far.
Is it worth waiting ANOTHER year (I'd be 25 starting school) and studying for the February LSAT? I know I can do better. I got 11 wrong in the LG section because I ran out of time and had to guess... my other sections were on pace for 170. I'm very frustrated. Similar story with my GPA. 3.8 in my major, but screwed up elsewhere.
Is there a school I can get into that's worth it?
George Mason then transfer?

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear that. If I were you I would definitely consider a year at GMU or American then transfer to GW. GW and Georgetown both accept a lot of transfers and I think you'd be solid. I only applied to GW and if I get rejected that will be my plan as well. Best of luck!kublakhan16 wrote:GW undergrad alum here.

Hey all! Just went "in review" today. Should I expect a long wait?

Transferring is a real pain in the ass because you have to be at the top of your class to be competitive as a transfer. If you're willing to, I'd recommend retaking, especially since you say you ran out of time on LG and think you can do a lot better. If you're not willing to wait, I'd say do a lot of research on transferring and see if there's some schools that are more likely to successfully transfer into GW than others (not sure if that info is available, but definitely would help if you could find some).kublakhan16 wrote:GW undergrad alum here.

I just want to add that "time is money".
Do you want to or can you wait for another year? If you enjoy what you are doing during the "gap period", then it's fine. But what if the time is wasted?

I went "in review" 11/1 and I'm still waiting... but a lot of people went in review and heard back 2 weeks later. It's kind of all over the placebrinicolec wrote:Hey all! Just went "in review" today. Should I expect a long wait?

Even when you do hear back from GW it's like three shots to the chest: they'd stir the heat up by changing decision status hours/day before decision email, driving people to incessantly check.brinicolec wrote:tparty wrote:I went "in review" 11/1 and I'm still waiting... but a lot of people went in review and heard back 2 weeks later. The highest scholarship amount I saw on LSN is $150,000. Anyone know if they ever grant full rides?

Does anyone know if they give full rides outside of the presidential binding program?
