How do you know which under review level you are? If my status tracker says under review does that mean UR1? What does it change to, in order to signify that you are UR2?

Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Does anyone know if UR1, 2, 3, etc have any significance? For instance, if the date hasn't changed since my app first went under review (signifying I haven't yet moved to UR2), should I be concerned? My GPA is at the 75th percentile, and my LSAT is between the 50-75 percentile, so I was pretty confident that I had nothing to worry about...

It was very hard for me too. I actually cried writing it! *hides*theothercat wrote:My AnBryce essay is giving me hell. For some reason, I'm finding it impossible to write.
Do you know any stats on the scholarship? Like how many are awarded - average stats for recipients, etc.? I'm new here - longtime lurker, but I'm having a hard time finding statistical info on it.

You are not alone on the crying, haha! That was part of why it took me so long to write it; I wanted to be honest, but it's hard to do when you're writing about a difficult and emotional subject. But I ended up really happy with what I wrote, so yay!BrittanyJeream wrote:It was very hard for me too. I actually cried writing it! *hides*theothercat wrote:My AnBryce essay is giving me hell. I've read quite a bit on this scholarship, and from what I can tell, stats are not as important once you're admitted to NYU. Once you're in, you will be considered. The essay is the most important factor, as well as demonstrated maturity and intelligence maybe through softs/work experience/LORs. Also, it seems like about 30 or so people are invited to interview, and about 10 are selected for the scholarship.
Here is a good thread on it: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... p?t=225234

Thank you so much! How long did yours end up being? And did you write a diversity and underrepresented one too?theothercat wrote:You are not alone on the crying, haha! Mine only ended up being 1 page, but I had already included the 2 pp PS, 1 page DS, and 1 page URM essay so i'm like I was going to sound like a broken ass record going more than a page but now i'm nervous

Mine was almost exactly 750 words, so about a page and a half, but I did not do a DS or a URM statement (I'm not a URM).BrittanyJeream wrote:Thank you so much! How long did yours end up being? I don't think you should be nervous at all regarding the length. The scholarship committee has access to your whole application, so I'm sure that they'll have read those other essays as well.

anyone know what's most important when it comes to the Furman Scholars program? do you need HYS type numbers? or is selection based more on your essay and background/LORs or something?

I spent hours last night reading that forum you tagged me in; so so incredibly helpful. Thank you so much. Now I'm like, ok well this is cute - NYU/AB is my definitive #1 dream/goal/target. I'm happy I found someone else gunning for it! <3

same!! except my stats are nowhere near good enough to give me a decent chance, but if anything, I might reapply next year! I'm doing a DS as well and I'm going to try to highlight a different aspect of my life in the AB essay.BrittanyJeream wrote:I don't think you should be nervous at all regarding the length. I don't want to freak anyone out, but the Admissions Office might be moving a little quicker this year and doing some November admits. Not sure if it'll be anytime soon, but I thought you'd like to know.

Finally submitted my app after *finally* finishing my Furman Public Policy essay. And it was the last app I needed to submit this cycle!
Good luck, y'all.
