Legit don't know the answer to this. Check your spam for admissions decision maybe?
Lol I have not gotten in but my application is in fact completed. I tried some maneuvering and got to the actual status checker.

Haven't checked up on my Texas application in a while and I was just wondering: I received login info from Texas when I applied but when I log in there is no place that says my application is complete (or anything about my application actually). It just says that it is my UT Direct - My Home and there are no messages in my message center. Is that what it's supposed to look like..? Or has something gone horribly wrong.
Are you going to the link through the email that was sent, or via the website? Also, I don't think you'll see much. They haven't been updating information very well (so far at least for RD).
Through the emailed link.
That is very strange. It sounds like a student portal...but I've never seen it so I wouldn't really know.
So can I just assume I got in?? Kidding but like... really though.
What you are describing is just the homepage for UT's portal. Sounds like just a minor pathing issue. If you click on the UT Banner top left and follow > Admissions & Aid > School of Law > Status Checker, you should end up where you are trying to get to.
Got it, thank you!

I was also held for RD this morning. Hopefully it actually does not take until April.

When I was held for RD I got a decision two weeks ~ish later of acceptance. Your mileage may vary.

Good to know. Did you respond to the email saying you were held for RD? Thanks!

No. You let it ride until it's been a while then maybe send an email saying you're still interested.

Ken should be qualifying his statements by saying this was under the old regime. Not that I disagree with any of his advice.

Admitted ED yesterday morning. Status checker updated first, and the phone call came later.

I was also held for RD. Does that mean they are probably going to accept me later? Like are they planning to accept me but don't want to give me any money? Is there still a chance I could get a scholarship? My application and numbers aren't bad.

It's looking like they're really taking GPA over LSAT this cycle

It seems like that is the case everywhere in the top 17 so far.

The same thing happened to me, I also had happy thoughts about the student portal meaning I was admitted hahah. I think it just takes a couple days to process your application after you receive the email with the link though, I logged back in today and it took me right to a page that had my application status.

Not Georgetown! Splitter-friendly, from what I've been reading.

My gpa is below 25ths at all "Top 17". LSAT at/above median for most (not all). Technical splitter I guess. Been accepted 4/4 so far.

I would say this applies to UT but not T14. Evidence: rejected by UT, multiple T14 acceptances.

Major splitter. GPA<25th by an entire point, LSAT>75th for all schools.

I've had the complete opposite experience. LSAT at median for UVA, Michigan, Northwestern. At 75th for Cornell, Georgetown, Vanderbilt. Though my GPA is lower 3's I thought I would have a better cycle. So far two wait lists and four unresponsive.

Give it time - I'm in your boat and have gotten 6 acceptances so far and some good scholarship. I do think schools take more time to deliberate on splitters like us compared to slam dunks, so don't feel discouraged. PM me if you want more.

Meh.

167<<168<<<<17x

For splitters being <25th and =50 or =75 is much different than being >75th. It sucks when it's only 1-2 points, but it makes all the difference in the world.

How much of a difference do you think being a few points above 75th makes? Enough to offset being <25% gpa wise?

I've heard it said that once you are above a school's 75th, the extent to which you are above their 75th doesn't matter too much. Texas cares about its rankings, and a 180 will raise the UT median LSAT rankings by just as much as a 172 raises the UT median LSAT rankings. Being above the 75th is king; once you've broken that threshold, I believe that you receive diminishing marginal returns for each additional LSAT point.
I get what you're saying but at the same time, I doubt these schools are content with relying on their past year's quartiles. Every school wants to stretch their quartiles (except maybe Berkeley and a few other anomalies). So grabbing a number of applicants with a score that is way higher than the 75 mark will do the trick. Sure, as an individual applicant, your >75 may not mean much once your break that quartile. But when a school sets its sights on getting a significantly higher number of "extreme 75s" your application becomes more valuable.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
