If you're from a rural place, bay area housing costs seem crazy. But relative to some places (Palo Alto, San Francisco, Downtown San Jose), you can save some money by commuting 20 minutes from a suburb. I'd aim for Milpitas, east San Jose, and even large parts of Santa Clara itself. I've lived in all of those areas, by the way, and you'll see no real lifestyle difference between them.

Anybody receive any scholarship bumps yet? Anyone planning on not paying their 2nd deposit in the hopes of getting a bump?

Formally withdrawing today, no luck with negotiating a scholly bump. I thought their initial offer was solid, but the COA was always going to require something close to a full ride. Good luck to all of those on the waitlist and to those who are attending Santa Clara Law!

Is anybody else looking at rental places around SCU? Because I personally think the prices are just ridiculous. But any advice would be much appreciated!

I am currently renting a place behind Safeway which is one block away from the school. I am transferring to Berkeley so I am looking for someone to take over my part of the lease. Let me know if anyone is interested. Rent is about 900-950 for your own room including utilities.Donashimen wrote:Is anybody else looking at rental places around SCU?
