I am still patiently waiting on an answer after being wait-listed for the May Program. It starts very soon lol ... Time is running out

Do you know how many people have been accepted off the wait list?

Withdrew. $15k a year and $200k debt at Cardozo is not worth it. They wouldn't negotiate either:/

Waitlisted but keep getting requests to update my intentions, which I've done. They ask for updates by email, but I'm thinking about mailing in via snail mail to change things up. Any thoughts? This is my number 1 school so I don't want to annoy anyone or screw this up. Also, does anyone have any ideas as to when more acceptances will be issued from waitlist? Thanks

I'd imagine next week you might see another wave, but beyond that, its anyone's guess.bigmike3 wrote:Waitlisted but keep getting requests to update my intentions, which I've done. Just send in another LOCI.
I don't think snail mail will hurt, may even help to get you in the door because its a change of pace.

If you look at the Facebook page for the 2015 Fall entering class, the numbers are seriously scant compared to past years; even with the May class. We are a month and a half away from starting class - what's going on?

Was at an event a few weeks ago and asked one of the admissions people a question regarding the waiting list just for the hell of it, and I was essentially told that they hadn't gone through it yet.splittermcsplit88 wrote:If you look at the Facebook page for the 2015 Fall entering class, the numbers are seriously scant compared to past years; even with the May class. Gonna ask a stupid question because I don't know the answer:
Anyone know when you are expected to pay the tuition? Orientation is the 13th so i'm assuming its before that?
Never paid for school before so i'm not quite sure how this whole thing works. Do u pay before or after the semester?

Hi! Just joined this forum today for the sole purpose of connecting with my fellow Cardozo waitlisters
. So I rummaged around Facebook and was able to find the group for the incoming class of 2015. Here's the link:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/716884631739123/
splittermcsplit88 is right, there are far less members in the group this year than there were for the class of 2014. There were 407 total in the Facebook group last year (I'm assuming that includes the May admits). I looked at the entering class profile for the class of 2014 as posted on Cardozo's website, and there were 339 total...clearly, there's some disconnect here between what is recorded and what's on the Facebook group, so I'm guessing not everyone who joined the Facebook group actually matriculated (this would bode well for us!). At this point, I really think it could go either way. It sucks, but it looks like we're going to have to play this waiting game. From the research I've done, most students heard back mid-July. There really is no way of telling, which is extremely unsettling, but I guess we will just have to hang on and hope for the best!
This is such a great school...it's one of my top choices for a number of reasons. Keeping my fingers crossed (for myself and all of you as well!)

I'm a current May student, just to give you all some perspective, a lot of my classmates (~100) are not in the Fall entering group, so if you add 100 to the amount in the fall group that should give you a more accurate estimate of how many spots are left...good luck! Hope to see you guys in the fall! (Enjoy your summer, law school is very intense!)

Thanks for the heads up, futureellewooods! I also noticed that some of the members are in the year above us...basically, use the Facebook group as a VERY rough estimate; I don't think we should get too worked up over it. Exactly when we're going to hear back is anyone's guess, so let's just stay faithful and try to keep each other in the loop!

On the other side of that coin is the students like myself who don't use Facebook but are enrolling.lawyernyc617 wrote:Hi! But I wish the best of luck to all those on the WL, hopefully they are using the waiting list to add to the class and not just fill in the gaps for withdrawing students.

Their group is not without movement though; I see people being added every day. Hoping for the best!

I received another status update email from Cardozo asking me to email them back by July 13 if I'm still interested in being considered for fall. I guess more waiting till after the 13th

Same here, I'll assume the same, no movement until next week at bestslewis06 wrote:I received another status update email from Cardozo asking me to email them back by July 13 if I'm still interested in being considered for fall. I guess more waiting till after the 13th

Is it possible to see a huge wave of admits off of the waitlist next week? Don't they have huge numbers to fill?

I don't know, I don't think so. What could happen is theoretically they could put people on the waiting list to the "waiting list", meaning they could put everyone who is on a waiting list (those that respond with "B" (on the form) in a bubble and prepare to have students on the Cardozo waiting list replace them should they withdraw.splittermcsplit88 wrote:Is it possible to see a huge wave of admits off of the waitlist next week? Beyond that, it doesn't seem as if they are too interested in increasing the class size or we would have seen mass movement earlier in the process. At this stage of the game all movement is likely tiered to this who are withdrawing.
So beyond that, I can't foresee any movement

In fact, according to the Dean of Admissions, the class size is going to be closer to 250 than the current 350 - as reported by a friend who will be attending Cardozo this fall.FirmBiz wrote:splittermcsplit88 wrote: Beyond that, it doesn't seem as if they are too interested in increasing the class size or we would have seen mass movement earlier in the process.
