Hey all. Just discovered this board and wanted to chime in since I am also in the same boat. UR since 10/24. To add to the pain, I was admitted last year but had to pass it up because I am in the Navy (service obligations, uncertainty, and a very long story prevented me from deferring). Anyway, good luck to everyone![/quote]

damn sorry to hear that, if we both end up going I kind of want to hear that story haha

Anyone know if the admissions office was open on Veteran's Day? I just got an email that the 10 days is meant to be 10 business days, not including weekends or holidays. Depending on whether they were open, I am either receiving my decision tomorrow or on Monday. The anxiety is actually starting to drive me insane.

I don't think they were. I got a similar email today and it said the 10 days excluded holidays, so I think you should exclude Veteran's Day in trying to figure out when your decision will come.

Severely disgruntled and depressed unemployed BC 3L here. Please heed my warning--don't attend this overpriced TTTrap without a full-ride, or close to it. I'll regret for the rest of my life not retaking my 164. :cry:

The school was open that day, so I think admissions would have been too!

As a 2L on the other side of the coin, indeed it severely risky to go to BC without any scholarship, but IMO you do not a near-full ride to justify coming here. The stats tell the story, but as a 2L most people I know have something sorted out for next summer. You are not guaranteed a job, and you will have to do well, but BC is far from a TTTrap. If you didn't come straight from undergrad and you have something else going for you on your resume, this is especially the case.

Get a scholarship, increase the scholarship via negotiation, and check out the employment statistics. But all in all, at least the people I know here at BC would say you do not need to get a near-full ride to justify attendance.

I think that's the case. My status disappeared for a while and the next day after my status reappeared, I got my acceptance email.

It's a separate status on the status checker.

Applied --> Complete --> Under/In Review --> Decision

If you're severely disgruntled and depressed, you probably aren't in the right state of mind to give such advice. BC's unemployment rate is 14%, and while that's not great, that means that the other 86% has done well enough for themselves to gain employment somewhere. If you're unemployed, then you clearly haven't made the most of the opportunity you've been given. As a student who just applied to BC (along with all the other applicants who anxiously check this thread every day) I don't appreciate someone coming onto this thread to attempt to dissuade people from attending this school simply because they've had a bad experience. As people who have been trained to think logically, I hope all of us on this thread know better than to accept one anecdotal bad experience as any sort of credible warning. Come back with some proof that BC caused you to underachieve, and maybe I'll consider your advice.

What? Where did you get that 86% figure from? BC has an LST employment score of 63.6%, which indicates that far more than 14% of grads are unemployed/underemployed.

Look at jobs stats released by the school with a grain of salt. "Employed at graduation" can mean lots of things, including babysitters, bartenders, baristas, etc.
