Just received an email from Dean Dillon- scholarship amounts are finalized, no full scholarships will be given out, and increases not going to happen, at least for me (she indicated as much from an earlier negotiation attempt).

If anyone has any UHLC questions that don't revolve around fin aid stuff (i.e. will they negotiate scholarships, spoilers: doubtful) current 1L here ready to honestly answer questions to the extent that I can!

Found out today that I have been wait-listed at UH. I have been accepted to other programs in TX, but this one is by far my favorite. Perfect joint degree offering, perfect location, perfect everything for me!
Do I have any chance at all? I'm going to attend one of their recruitment events later this week, and will hopefully be touring the school next week. I hope it leaves a positive impression of myself. I reaaaaally want UH!

Does anybody remember how soon they got a decision after status went into "file in review"?

To view your scholarship, did you guys have to do the payment agreement thing, even if you arent 100% on attending?

How do you check financial aid/scholarships awards? I got an e-mail with login information for myUH but can't seem to figure out how much I got.

After reaching the financial aid section, I think you need to complete everything on the "To Do List" (click the link) before any awards will be shown.BM_1993 wrote:How do you check financial aid/scholarships awards? One caveat though, this is based on my process as an undergraduate at UH, which uses the same technical system but may have different processes.
It might be best to email the financial aid office directly with your question.

I'm pretty excited at the prospect of coming to UH Law in the Fall, It for a longtime was and still is my first choice, It's just seeming more expensive than I first thought. It's really tough being a LA resident and deciding on sticking with my alma mater LSU on a full ride or to go off on an adventure. Can't wait to go visit around April 3rd, hopefully it'll wooh me the last bit I need.

Admitted today, so that took about 5 weeks.

I submitted my app on 3/01 and got the acceptance email 3/13 saying scholarship info would be coming in 1-2 weeks. Still no word on that.Rstein888 wrote:Does anybody remember how soon they got a decision after status went into "file in review"?

UH 2L here. I am happy to go through the pros and cons of UH with those of you deciding. UH can be a good school with the right goals and geographic preferences, (it is for me obviously), and I can help share some of my class' experiences. you can PM me too if you prefer.

My application status has been "file in review" for the past 3 weeks but the current status date got updated to today's date today while still saying "file in review". Anybody remember how soon they got a decision after that happened? Thanks!

Re: University of Houston Law Center c/o 2018 Applicants
Hi everyone, I posted earlier about not being able to see my merit scholarship. I messaged the financial aid advisor and she mentioned that my FAFSA was not on file. I understand that is a result of need-based scholly.
I still haven't gotten an e-mail about MERIT scholarship. I'm pretty sure I will get something given my scores-I can't figure out where it is. I logged into the UH portal, there is nothing in my 'To-Do list'... I guess I'm just REALLY confused how to find out how much money I got. Trying to make decisions before the seat deposit deadline...
Did anyone get an email outlining this?

same. So I logged into the UH portal and looked at the awards and it still showed that I didn't get one, which is why I withdrew. I figured I'd get one but I didn't. A little disappointing.BM_1993 wrote:Hi everyone, I posted earlier about not being able to see my merit scholarship. My data point is 3 years old at this point, but I heard about money a week after I withdrew.

I got my scholarship info 2.5 weeks after my acceptance. It was a pretty terrible offer so I withdrew. I got the number via email.

Just struck out on scholarship negotiation. Will probably try again after deposit deadline. This is making things difficult.
