Got a FedEx Delivery Manager notification that I had a package coming tomorrow from E. Rosenzweig, so Delivery Manager's usefulness is confirmed.

If you take video of this, I think this is the kind of thing they want you to keep in touch about.

In advance of the package coming I received a wonderful email from Dean Rosenzweig informing me that I'm in. The email also said that the Woodruff Committee is "unable to offer [me] a Woodruff Fellowship." Anyone else have that language? I'm assuming it just means I wasn't selected as a finalist.

Dean Ethan and I really hit it off when I met him. It makes me sad that I didn't get the same love he showed to you :|

I got the same language...I think that's their way of notifying us we didn't get selected

Generous scholly offer, but probably not what it would take to bring me to Emory as much as I love it. PM for stats and amount.

FedEx Delivery Manager paid off! Received an email/ text yesterday evening saying that Dean Rosenzweig had overnighted me a FedEx Envelope, and just received an email this morning from Dean Rosenzweig congratulating me on my acceptance and merit scholarship (no Woodruff). Can't wait to see what's in that envelope! Stats in profile.

I had received an application fee waiver from Emory based on "academic performance". I applied on January 26th with a completed application the 26th as well. I received the mass email with the subject line as "Emory Law Update: Applications Under Review". I emailed the Dean back thanking him and the admissions committee for their consideration and I also expressed my excitement about the prospect of attending Emory. The dean emailed me back and said "Great!". I haven't heard anything else yet.

I am very nervous and waiting for any news as I am sure everyone else is as well.

Please give any advice or pointers. This is my first time posting on TLS.

Thanks :)

I'm sure I am not the only one who applied to both Georgia and Emory Law. I just noticed that their Open House Events are on the same Saturday (3/28), and Emory's runs all day (UGA starts at 1:30pm). Anyone else finding themselves in this pickle?

Yeah, I haven't figured out what my plan is yet to deal with that. I'm deciding between Emory and UGA so this will make it complicated.

Received the letter today, and I'm in with $111,000! I also received the email about not being given an interview for the Woodruff, but I'm still very happy to receive a generous offer, nonetheless!

DO they negotiate at Emory?

From what I've heard, they tend not to. But negotiating with other schools first (hopefully you can get a full tuition offer at another school), then coming back to Emory with those offers while showing that you really want to come here (you want to come here right? obviously, because your 1st post is re: Emory), can't hurt. hth :D It also depends on your numbers--you gotta figure out if they lowballed you or something. It's gonna be loads of work, but negotiating should be fun!! I'm excited.

Any admits planning to attend Emory's dinner event in Seoul on March 5th?

Curious about appropriate dress code.

Just remember that Emory's cost of attendance is comparable to any T14 (but without the employment outcomes). $70,000 is a little under a 50% tuition scholarship, but that doesn't take into account living expenses. The Atlanta COL really hurts.
