Did anyone have a date change after their interview? I'm not sure if there should be one after they submit their notes, but my dates have remained the same and I interviewed 3 weeks ago.

I interviewed a couple weeks ago and haven't gotten a date change either.

does anybody have any info on what percentage of applicants do an interview? I would assume those of us who have interviewed already would have a slight advantage over people applying after the December 1st interview deadline, right?

Status changed to 'Decision Mailed' today.
In Canada, so unfortunately don't have the luxury of checking packages en route with FedEx.... guess I just have to wait.

Checking in! Excited for the prospect of Vandy.
My alumni interview was so strange. With a decade+ old alumni at a big law firm who literally, and I mean literally, did not ask a single question. He just asked me to ask him questions, went on like this for an hour as I awkwardly inserted things about myself after he answered. He was a great guy, but funny interview format! Anyone else have an interesting interview experience?

I literally talked with my interviewer about my resume about 5 minutes or so then went on to talk about football for another 30 minutes. Dat southern culture.DCfilterDC wrote:Checking in! Excited for the prospect of Vandy.

Glad to hear my experience wasn't that unique.... it ended with her telling me everything Vanderbilt will ask about the interview and how she will answer those questions.... I want to be that kind've alumni.rion91 wrote:I literally talked with my interviewer about my resume about 5 minutes or so then went on to talk about football for another 30 minutes. The interview was a few weeks ago so I don't remember everything she said, but basically she told me that a big part is that you're not inept and can pretty much walk and talk. But more specifically, they ask about why you want to go to law school and if it seems like I've given it real thought, and pretty big stress on why Vanderbilt, if you're a good fit and if you're genuinely interested.Lions1913 wrote:What does Vanderbilt ask about the interview?DCfilterDC wrote:Glad to hear my experience wasn't that unique.... it ended with her telling me everything Vanderbilt will ask about the interview and how she will answer those questions.... I think most have been pretty standard. Just know your answers for why law, why Vandy, and be able to talk about your resume and interests. Also be sure to prep at least 3 questions for the interviewer. I think most interviewers have been eager to talk about their own experiences and help applicants.hearsay77 wrote:interview tomorrow with an alumni. any advice?

I had mine with a local alumnus last week. He straight-up told me that the interview can only help and that basically it's to weed out the jerks who look good on paper but aren't going to fit in with the supportive community at Vandy. No pressure!hearsay77 wrote:interview tomorrow with an alumni. any advice?
Also, is "Application Received" the same as complete? Completed mine two weeks back, interview last week, but my 2nd letter FINALLY came through today and there's no date change.

I don't think so. My status checker actually says "Application Complete."Cunningham8 wrote:I had mine with a local alumnus last week. I didn't wear a full suit; just a pencil skirt and nice top. I think you could do slacks or a skirt and a nice top and be just fine.hearsay77 wrote:thanks! the interview is at a starbucks so i'm not sure if i should be wearing a full suit or dress a little more casually...any insight? i'm female if that makes a differencehillz wrote:I think most have been pretty standard. Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2018 applicants
I had my interview at a restaurant next to a bunch of law offices, so I figured it best not to dress too casually. I wore slacks and a nice top, and same for the alum I met with (both female). The whole thing was just a really relaxed, get-to-know-each-other kind of meal. Good luck!!hearsay77 wrote:thanks! the interview is at a starbucks so i'm not sure if i should be wearing a full suit or dress a little more casually...any insight? i'm female if that makes a differencehillz wrote:I think most have been pretty standard.
