I think they were shooting for like 220 to keep the class profitable.
But yea admissions is a lot of magic/vodoo/divination so sometimes things don't work as planned.
Then I would suggest to WashU's admissions folks to have a class size cap. They don't need to graduate a class anywhere near 300 in the foreseeable future.

Still, I'd be happy to attend if the debt-reward risk calculus appears to be in my favor, but we'll have to wait and see.
I mean, A) I'm not sure I'm right and B) admissions at any school wouldn't really work that way. But regardless, good luck and feel free to ask any more questions.

hmmm what LSAT score do you guys think would be needed along with a 4.0 and no WE (non-urm) to get that ED full scholly?

That's class of 2013 bro. We are 2017. Even with adding 100, we aren't close to 300.

Hard to say for the ED since this is the first year they've done it, but I would think with that GPA, you'd be safe with a 166/7.

Thanks, I forgot that there is limited data. Have those numbers got full rides RD in the past?

Yes. But fwiw I think the point of the new ED full ride is to lock in 167+, so I don't think the 4.0 would help as much here as it would with getting in in general. With a 4.0, you could get in with a 160.

Yeah, I can definitely see that. I guess the worst that could happen is they pass you onto RD and you just have to wait for regular scholarship information. It would be pretty amazing to know you are getting 150k before November even starts.

Oh exactly. If you had a 4.0 166/167 though and were considering ED, it's definitely something to think long and hard about. That'll get you into quite a few T14s with at least a little $, so you'd really have to see if a full-ride to WUSTL is what you want. A lot of people end up choosing WUSTL with $$$ over the T14, but there's a lot that don't, and it really comes down to your personal situation, debt aversion, and goals.

That's true. I am really against acquiring any debt and would likely only accept offers to schools that include full ride (or 85%+). I grew up in STL, so I would love to head back there. Not really attached to the idea of biglaw, but I hear there is a small chance if I do change my mind.

Yea if you're debt averse and from STL, WUSTL could be a really good option for you. And while you can't expect biglaw from this school, there's definitely more than a small chance that you can get it though.

If you do get passed on to RD, how long do you think until you get more scholarship info? Was it late last cycle? I realize they are trying to do quick turnarounds this year (around 2 weeks).

Scholarship info didn't come that quickly early on last cycle iirc. I think there was a big wave in November or December for everyone that had been accepted in the fall, and then later in the cycle people were getting scholarship info a week or two after being accepted. I applied late, like the last week of January I believe, and was accepted within 2 weeks and got scholarship info a week later.

I think they've invited me to apply 3 times since already sending in my app & phone interview. I keep getting my hopes up when I see it in my inbox.

Finally caught up on like 2-3 weeks of this thread and am floored by how warm/generous/present current WUSTL students are. Really makes this seem like an awesome place--thank you all for what you're doing! Wish I could visit like nao.

That email about the Cards in October was just another terrible reminder about the Dodgers losing to them, again.. Come on WUSTL, don't make me relive that shit.

Checking in. Hoping some 1Ls will have some feedback on my situation.

LSAT: 161 (yeah, yeah I know it's low)
GPA: Cumulative is 3.2. HOWEVER, my first semester in college my dad died, and my house was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Did an addendum to why that messed up my GPA for that year. After that I maintained a 3.8 in my major and an overall 3.5.

Softs/other factors: URM, older applicant though not super old. I'm 28, will be 29 when I start law school. Twelve years' work experience, with ten of that being full-time. Three years' work experience as a Paralegal. LOR's from three attorneys that I've worked with/for. Disadvantaged childhood, touched upon in my p/s. TX resident (born in Mississippi), neither of those help nor hurt I assume. No tie to MO except a cousin who lives in KC.

I was thinking of retaking the LSAT as my GPA is what it is at this point. I've taken it twice (12/13 and 6/14) and both times with only a difference of one point. I had a private tutor last year, and while it made me feel more prepared, I don't think it actually helped at all. I work full-time so it's a little difficult to study, but I can make it work if I have to.

Any feedback/advice you have is helpful!

I think 161 URM will get you in, even without the addendum.

I'd say retake the LSAT since you have one more shot, and that could either get you more money here (or get you in if I'm wrong about your chances) or broaden your options regarding other schools as well.

Good luck!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
