it's probably just set to go up automatically at 12; I doubt JS is sitting around waiting to press the "activate" button at midnight hahaRunnerRunner wrote:I wonder if they put it up exactly at midnight or if its ever a little earlier/a little later.... time to put that refresh button to use on LSAC!xylocarp wrote:less than 5 hours

Fair point... but if she IS and presses a little early I'll be first to submit and win the prize for being the gunniest gunner! lolxylocarp wrote:it's probably just set to go up automatically at 12; I doubt JS is sitting around waiting to press the "activate" button at midnight hahaRunnerRunner wrote:I wonder if they put it up exactly at midnight or if its ever a little earlier/a little later.... time to put that refresh button to use on LSAC!xylocarp wrote:less than 5 hours

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Hey guys, need some help on an internal debate I'm having. I'm planning on submitting in early October. Currently have a 171 and a GPA at 75th percentile. I think I could definitely do better on the LSAT since I was averaging a 173 (with a high test of 178). I made the dumb mistake of not checking my test center during the weeks leading up to the test (plus I had an issue with my email so I didn't see the notifications) and found out it was changed to a much farther location the morning of. I made it to the center on time but my my stress on the day of the test was definitely increased. The only thing is, I'd have to take it in December. Would it be worth the effort to study/retake? My main concerns are 1) is it worth it if I am realistically looking at increasing 2-3 points at best (plus the scary possibility of decreasing) and 2) even if I can increase my score 2-3 points, would it make a difference if I'm submitting in early October and not taking the test till December?

If your application is in good order, I'd send it in sooner. The worst that could happen is that they read it, then put it in the 'wait' pile until they get more applications in.tonysoprano wrote:Hey guys, need some help on an internal debate I'm having. And definitely retake. 2-3 points might not seem like much, but if it puts you above their median, they'll want you all the more.

I was actually in a very similar position. I took October, did well, but knew I could do better. I went ahead and submitted my applications so they could be in the "wait" pile. Meanwhile, I signed up and took in December. Before those results came back I was admitted, then I ended up doing better in December anyways. I'm sure HLS liked that.

Edit: sorry, I thought you were talking about a confirmation from Duke. Ignore me.psychmusic wrote:Submitted...yikes. As soon as I finished the process I was positive that my application was riddled with typos and mistakes. I absolutely refuse to look back at it now though...
Anyone get any confirmation back yet? Duke responded really quickly with a notice they'd receive the app but I haven't heard anything yet

Woo checking in!
Not quite at gunner status ... had a question on the "Writing" section of the application - how detailed did you get (ie: for thesis, research papers)?
Thanks

if your research papers are published, I assume they are on your resumeabc27 wrote:Woo checking in!

if they're not, are they under review somewhere? if so they could be on your resume as well ('papers under review')
if not, have they really gone through enough review etc. to be mentioned?

On the dual degree section - it's vaguely worded enough that I'm confused about whether or not they mean applying at this moment for a dual degree or would plan to after matriculation. Anyone else have this issue?
