I didn't fight my appeal because I got in by the skin of my teeth and am still in shock that I got in, Im just still hoping that I get other scholarships from outside sources. I went to there last ASD and it was a great time.

Finally moved "into review" today. From the looks of it, it could still be another couple of weeks. Did anyone get a decision quicker than that?

Has anybody had any success asking for a second time? My first ask was rewarded with an extra $5,000 but I am thinking about asking again.

Got my acceptance last Friday. Now I'm just waiting for scholarship information. I've already paid a deposit elsewhere, so we'll see if they make it worth the switch!

Yes. After my first appeal my $25k was upped to $35k, then after a second appeal it was upped again to $40k. I made my second appeal without any new/additional leverage, just saying that I wanted more money. Go for it!Adventureisoutthere wrote:Has anybody had any success asking for a second time? Is anyone else going to the Social for Admitted Students event tomorrow? I rsvp'd a while ago and thought there was a cocktail reception type thing after the initial meeting the deans bit but now don't see anything about it. Not sure that I feel like traveling up to Newark if there is no free booze involved

Yes, I'm definitely goin, deposits paid. I went to the accepted student event in march which ended with the NYC cocktail event, a buddy from ug ended up being in the area yesterday so I didn't end up going either. I will definitely be at the road to 1L next Friday though!kris4842 wrote:I was going to go but I went to one already and I know I am deft going to this school. Must be nice. I won't be able to make the road to 1L. Won't be moving up from California until August.

Ah, bummer. I've lived in NJ my whole life, sorta wish I was going to school in cali lol. A more general question, though you can answer as well: where's everyone living at?emitremmus wrote:Must be nice. I won't be able to make the road to 1L. Won't be moving up from California until August.

Where is everyone planning on living? Moving up from Florida. Thinking about moving to NYC, somewhere close to penn station. Commute is only like 20 minutes.

That'll be pretty expensive...Branruss wrote:Where is everyone planning on living? Moving up from Florida. Thinking about moving to NYC, somewhere close to penn station. Commute is only like 20 minutes.
I'd really recommend living in Newark (I know a ton of law students live at 1180 Raymond Blvd, but I'd look more broadly--especially to the Ironbound). You'll save yourself a ton of time and money, and you can get into NYC very frequently.

I live In Manhattan and it will cost you a lot more to live here than to live by the School. I also will have a short commute but it is still a commute to another state. If I was you I would live in Newark and when you want to go into the city take the short commute.Branruss wrote:Where is everyone planning on living? Moving up from Florida. WHO IS GOING TO BE AT THE SETON HALL LAW ROAD TO 1L EVENT ON THE 20th? I was wondering if any of you guys are going to be there on June 19th. I'm free the whole day/night, and it's my first time in Jersey. I'm coming from Florida, and if any of you guys are down to meet up, let me know! I look forward to meeting my future peers!

Also, to people considering housing, I'm living on Mt Prospect--about 1.5 miles away from the school with easy bus access--there are two more rooms available, if anyone is looking for a roommate living situation PM me, rent is <$600 a month.

Would someone attending tomorrow's road to 1L be able to provide some type of overview of the experience for us out of staters please?!
Not sure how the schedules and section assignments are released but if it is possible to transfer that info over TLS that would be lovely as well.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
