Let me quell some of this anxiety with this chart:

Unless they're deviating greatly from past cycles, if you have a decision sent this early in the cycle, you can be pretty sure that you're in.

Extremely helpful, thanks!

If I indicated on the original app that I wasn't going to apply for it but am now changing my mind, do you think I could still submit it?
Yeah definitely go ahead and submit it. As long as you do it before the deadline listed on the application then I don't think it matters whether you initially said you were going to apply for it or not.

status just changed! :D

fedex is the worst. that or I just dont understand any of this. If my status changed today, when can I expect it?? is it shipped express or regularly??? also they totally wouldn't send out an RD denial in November...right?

As far as I know, they use 2-day fedex. I received mine 2 days after my "Decision Mailed" date. At the latest, it might take 3 days for whatever reason, but you'll probably get yours on Thursday.

To confirm, it is 2-day Fed-Ex. I've been tracking mine like a mad-man...the 5 lbs. box left Memphis at 4 PM.

free airfare and you can either stay with a student host or have partial hotel reimbursement

And just to make it clear, it's free airfare, not reimbursed. If you make plans ahead of time (I believe it was one or two weeks) they actually book and pay for the ticket for you, so you're not out that money while you're waiting on the reimbursement. Of course, they could change it this year, so read the invitation in the packet. Also, I'm not sure what they do for international students.

This might be a dumb question but how do you track it? My status just changed to decision mailed today as well but I'm pretty far from TN so it'd be nice to track.

To help ease minds...I had my Vanderbilt alum interview yesterday. As already stated, it was very casual with general questions. Why law? Why Vandy? As long as you come with a few questions, it should go smoothly. Now to just sit back and wait...

I went complete 10/8, had my interview 10/18, and nothing at all has happened since then... no update to the portal after my interview, and the date still says 10/8. Should I be worried?

Mine didn't update after my interview until decision letter sent; I wouldn't worry about it.

Apparently my application mailed yesterday! The one day I was busy enough to not check statuses. THAT'LL teach me to try and focus on anything else in my life, lol.

Keicar, fingers crossed for good news for both of us!!

It has been two weeks since I requested an interview, and I haven't heard anything. Sent them an email today indicating as much.

Congrats to everyone in so far.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
