Re: Penn c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I applied in fall 2011 and deferred admission to class of 2017. I received phone notification before seeing status checker update. Being considered for scholarships with this cycle so the anxiety is returning! Good luck, everyone!

Lucky, you might actually take the title for most paranoid TLSer this cycle. Please for the sake of this forum's sanity - calm down.luckystar84 wrote:does penn ever call you? complete 11/01, haven't been able to pick up for the last few days. If my status is still complete and not UR, and I'm RD, then I shouldn't be worried about having missed a phone call?
That said, you can reference my response to your question in the Duke thread, but no, Penn has not been calling anyone either. No RD applicants are even under review - especially not those that went complete 10 days ago...

I've been "under review" a couple days now and it just updated to today's date (UR2?). Any idea how soon I should expect to hear from them based on any of your experiences? A couple days? Weeks? I'm ED so hopefully I'll get a quick response one way or another.

Anyone's application not loading? I get to the active applications page, but when I click on my Penn app the page fails. Been going on since yesterday..I'm a little worried.

I received an e-mail confirming that my application had been completed, but it didn't contain information on how to check my application's status...I'm guessing they send that in a separate e-mail?

A reliable source has told me that Penn releases a large batch of decisions at one time and that decisions will be rendered prior to Dec 1.Clearly wrote:Mid December is my guess.mx23250 wrote:I've been "under review" a couple days now and it just updated to today's date (UR2?). Not necessarily disagreeing with the poster above, but according to the last 3 cycles, Penn hasn't notified anyone of decisions prior to December 1. Basing this on mylsn and Law School Numbers info.

can we elaborate on this source? i'm hoping your right, but it seems this would be unconventional for upenn.mindarmed wrote:A reliable source has told me that Penn releases a large batch of decisions at one time and that decisions will be rendered prior to Dec 1.Clearly wrote:Mid December is my guess.mx23250 wrote:I've been "under review" a couple days now and it just updated to today's date (UR2?). Are there any JD/MBA applicatants ITT? I'm pretty sure that we find out about both schools on 12/17 for R1.

Regarding optional essays, everyone wrote a why penn essay right? Also hows the scholarship process work? Do you apply for them or is merit $ simply awarded with acceptances?

That was actually the one I didn't write. (Did the other two). Perhaps a stupid idea, but the prompt just seemed so insipid to me and I felt anything I would put would be pandering or insincere or uninteresting.paglababa wrote:Regarding optional essays, everyone wrote a why penn essay right? Re: Penn c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Does anyone know if there is a difference in how we are notified depending on the admissions decision?
For example, maybe they send the deny decisions through email but send admit decisions through mail? Do they call? etc.

How long does it to take to get the status email? I received the application complete e-mail from Penn on November 13, but haven't gotten a status e-mail yet.Sourrudedude wrote:You will get an email with a link.mrclayton wrote:Hi after submitting the application through lsac do I get a confirmation from upenn? how do I check my status?
