Is everyone submitting a resume even when a lot of it overlaps with the college activities section?
I'm K-JD, so most of my resume fits right into 'college activities.'
I was wondering whether submitting a resume would be unnecessary in my case.

I would definitely submit a resume (and have activities outside of college).

You're going to law school, not a PhD in anthro program. Resumes are kind of a big deal.

Yes - you should still include a separate professional resume in your application. These activities will be duplicated, and I'm sure you'll mention some of them in your personal statement or another part of your application too, but I would definitely include one.

Yes. Wasn't planning on applying (and all the rest of my apps have been in for over a month) - I'm just below the 25th percentile for GPA and between 50 and 75th percentiles for LSAT.
Don't know if it's worth my 85 bucks just to be rejected by the holy grail.
Anyone else on the fence? It was quite nice to get an email from them, however.

I have similar numbers but a slightly better GPA (25th to 50th). It seems that they gave the invite to people at 174 or above, I think, unless someone else got it at lower?

I got it with a 170 and above median GPA, and I don't think it's anything special. they also did one for alumni of my school as well.

Discussed many times before. While Y is the easy answer for government (DC), public interest, Clerkships, and academia), there are circumstances in which the scholly makes absolute sense (like you want NY biglaw or to practice in the city where the school is located). H & S will get tyou that oo (but they skimpon schollys).

But if you take the schollys, you will still be under much greater pressure to perform- class rank and grades WILL matter, where most will agree at Y they do not. That's worth alot.

Feeling kind of crappy about my "College Activities" section. I honestly didn't do many extracurriculars in college because I just wanted to focus on school (and if I'm being honest, hanging out with my friends). Essentially, I have good grades (although by Yale standards, maybe not so much), a strong LSAT, did a couple of really big research projects during college, and now work full time at DOJ.
I'm really just trying to figure out if I have a chance. Can anyone throw out some candid advice? I just don't want to be that person whose app gets laughed at when the adcoms read it.
Leave it to Yale Law to make me feel super insecure about what I used to consider a strong resume.

Highlight some research projects you have done. Don't forget to mention your take away(s).

I think one unique way to chronicle extracurricular activities is to highlight the one you want to demonstrate and make it stand out by describing it with exact achievement. Say, you got a full scholarship while in sophomore; you might want to describe it as receive a xxx scholarship of how much $$$

For one, Don't worry about the Adcoms laughing at you. You'll never ever know if they did. Present yourself as you are as best and polished as you can and hope for the best. It's worth throwing in an application even if you are just borderline. Picture it as if you had one chance to ascend to a higher plane than the rest of humanity, even if its a long shot its still worth it.
