Sounds like they have been going back through the WL pool and extending offers one by one, rather than all ten offers being sent out at once.

Or alternatively, it could be that all the offers have already been extended to people on the WL, and that few if any of those who were offered have posted on this site.

I prefer to think it's the former rather than the latter.

yeah. i have avoided calling them - its pretty hard to get through to an admissions director anyway, and i don't want to annoy them as you said. have been primarily emailing updates, addressing them to an admissions director and usually get a response. but at this point i don't have much to update them with anymore...

it's certainly possible. though i hope its not the case. still a bit odd that on TLS/LSN there is only one reported WL-Admit since last week, so that leads me to believe that there are still offers going out. there are a few others on the WL spreadsheet that would have likely received offers based on their numbers (in relation to the one girl who did get an offer) but no word from them.

but im just saying what i want to hear. please dont let this be over yet

Hahaha yes, keep hope alive! the most recent person who is listed as WL-admit on LSN was accepted in May, do it seems like there's been no recent movement reported. I assume that most peeps aren't as anal as me and probs don't post their good news on the Internet so quickly but I hope I'm wrong!

nothing here. though here's my latest theory - the harvard waitlist just had another wave of acceptances yesterday and today - maybe UM is waiting to feel the effect of that before sending out the offers? again, this is my wishful thinking.

I asked if the ten offers mentioned had already been extended, and she said those offers were still ongoing, and they had not gotten commitments yet from all those that received them. I asked the current size of the waitlist, and she said that the 5,000+ original applicants had been narrowed down to a group that fits on a "small table."

I am imagining that the admissions staff made a fort on their "small table" and are using our applications for their fun and games in the slow summer months

If offers are still "ongoing" then theres still a (tiny sliver) of hope
