I'm going to the April ASW. It'll be my first time in Boston/Cambridge, so I'm open to bar suggestions.Mr. Elshal wrote:Gonna register for April ASW. What's the word on a meetup that weekend?

Maybe Cambridge Common if you all want to sit down and have some pub food.dcg2120 wrote:I asked to stay with a student but I guess they might run out of space.Spritzpiggy wrote:I'm planning to fly in Saturday but I'd definitely be down for a meet up. We were talking about a meet up a page or two back, but we never agreed on where. Is there anyone from the area who can suggest a place that would be fun, but calm enough that we could talk to each other?

If I remember correctly you can reserve some space for a group at Cambridge Common (and also is a block from the law school)domino wrote:Maybe Cambridge Common if you all want to sit down and have some pub food.dcg2120 wrote:I asked to stay with a student but I guess they might run out of space.Spritzpiggy wrote:I'm planning to fly in Saturday but I'd definitely be down for a meet up. Did you guys check out the "outside scholarships" yet? I looked and not a single one of them applied to me. Sucks.

Anyone find it odd that only sons of Cabot employees get money?

Only one applies to me but I'm pretty sure it applies to thousands of others, so I'm not too confidentfacile princeps wrote:Did you guys check out the "outside scholarships" yet? I looked and not a single one of them applied to me. Sucks.

"Admissions packet sent."
They must read TLS and know that we were making fun of them calling it a binder!!

At least you got a ticket, bro. I read through them like "OK, here we go... nope. Alright, this has potential... uh-uh. Race/ethnicity, yes! Nope. Graduated from a college/university in... no NY... nope... uh-uh... nope"Mr. Elshal wrote:Only one applies to me but I'm pretty sure it applies to thousands of others, so I'm not too confidentfacile princeps wrote:Did you guys check out the "outside scholarships" yet? Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
Haha as I went through it I had the feeling I'd get nothing for being a New Yorker. There was nothing for my race. My last name had nothing and I'm a descendent of no college educated people because I come from an immigrant family. The only one that fit was for my religion, and it's pretty rare to be the only one following a specific religion at a school like Harvard. I'm gonna try for it, but I've accepted the fact that I won't get it.facile princeps wrote:At least you got a ticket, bro. I read through them like "OK, here we go... nope. Also, I think this is the point in your life where you have to decide if a legal change of name or converting to another religion is worth over a hundred and fifty thousand dollars to you.

Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
So has anyone looked at booking a hotel ahead of time for the March ASW?
Looks like the Sheraton Commander http://www.sheratoncommander.com/ is within walking distance and the cheapest that close to the Law School. And by cheapest I mean about $200 a night w/taxes. Any females looking to split the cost of a 2 double bed room?
Otherwise I'm going to keep looking...

I used Hotwire and got a four-star hotel right by a T-stop for $91 a night.usafgirl wrote:So has anyone looked at booking a hotel ahead of time for the March ASW?

I knew I had seen this page on the HLS website and I finally found it. It's a list of accommodations (some with a harvard discount). If you find someone to share with, some of these are not too badanela00 wrote:I used Hotwire and got a four-star hotel right by a T-stop for $91 a night.usafgirl wrote:So has anyone looked at booking a hotel ahead of time for the March ASW?

I requested to room on campus, but if that falls through I'll definitely split with you.usafgirl wrote:So has anyone looked at booking a hotel ahead of time for the March ASW?

I was afraid they'd tell me the day prior that none of the students could take me and then I'd end up with an expensive hotel room...Spritzpiggy wrote:

Just looked at how they want travel subsidies requests- at least ten days prior, and you have to mail it in! All of us March people better get those in soon!

Mind sharing the name of the hotel? I don't know anything about Boston and it would take me a long time to figure out which cheap hotels are near good T-stops...
