Re: Splitter Results for 2012-2013 App Cycle
O hai guys, how about we get the thread back on track. I'll start it up again with an uncontroversial splitter profile:
2.6/172 (first and only take), 4 yr legal WE
GULC ED - Held (decision by 2/28)
Penn ED2 - Held (decision by ???)
Northwestern - Pending
UVA - WL
WUSTL - Accepted
George Washington - Pending
Irvine - Accepted
Hastings - WL
Davis - Pending
American - Pending
What do you guys think? Too shallow of a net? Doomed to the waitlist-drenched fate of a splitter? WE could spell salvation from NU?

Four years WE surely won't hurt from NU. I'd say if you get in that would be your best shot at a good job depending on career goals.bananasplit19 wrote:O hai guys, how about we get the thread back on track. I'll start it up again with an uncontroversial splitter profile:

WE is reconciling the GPA, ... evidence is the lack of outright ding from UVA. You should be optimistic about both GULC and NU. As for Penn ... who the hell knows what to expect from them. Did you consider Michigan?bananasplit19 wrote:O hai guys, how about we get the thread back on track. I'll start it up again with an uncontroversial splitter profile:

I was going back and forth on Michigan, but had this weird line of logic about not wanting to be stuck in Michigan/Detroit metro if I couldn't get a gig in DC or Chicago. Afterwards, I saw the pictures ofkingsfield69 wrote:WE is reconciling the GPA, ... evidence is the lack of outright ding from UVA. You should be optimistic about both GULC and NU. I think NU may bite. This is the best cycle for you in terms of getting into a T-14 off the WL, so that's good!bananasplit19 wrote:O hai guys, how about we get the thread back on track. I'll start it up again with an uncontroversial splitter profile:

I'm not sure what your post-law school plans are, but you could put W&M, W&L, BU and BC on that list, and will probably get money from most of them. All four would be better than American. All four are accredited...bananasplit19 wrote:O hai guys, how about we get the thread back on track. I'll start it up again with an uncontroversial splitter profile:

In at GW
Rejected at Texas. My Texas ding is certainly looking lonely on the LSN graph.

Fair enough; I didn't do due diligence on research when applying to American. Seems like they lost my app anyway (no update or contact since I applied), so I guess no harm, no foul. Don't want to be in Boston long-term, but you're right, maybe I should try for those schools, if only for scholly negotiation purposes with WUSTL if I strike out T14. Thanks for all the advice, guyskuttlefish wrote:I'm not sure what your post-law school plans are, but you could put W&M, W&L, BU and BC on that list, and will probably get money from most of them. Did you seriously get dinged at UT with a 177? That's unreal barring some C&F issue.WaitingandHopeful wrote:Update:

I have some C&F, but nothing that should be prohibitive.

Yeah that's pretty stunning. I would have guessed even this guy would have gotten in with a 177.WaitingandHopeful wrote:Update:

Is that a thing? I figured WLs were the only YP symptom. They're so sure you'll go somewhere better they just straight-out ding you? That's just spiteful.ultrasajid wrote:YP?

Re: Splitter Results for 2012-2013 App Cycle
I don't quite meet the 3.3 cutoff for this thread, but I figured 3.40/170 was close enough.
All apps were submitted in November, save Yale and Northwestern, which went in December. No Why X statements were written. Plenty of work experience is the only soft. Cornell and Texas were EA, all others RD. The only interview was an off-campus with Northwestern.
As disclaimer, I'm well aware that applying to the T6 was a waste of app fees, but I'd rather hear no than wonder.
Yale - Pending (clearly expecting admit soon)
Stanford - Pending (see above)
Harvard - January reject
Columbia - Pending
Chicago - Pending
NYU - Pending
Penn - January admit
Berkeley - January reject
Virginia - December admit
Northwestern - Pending
Georgetown - December admit
Cornell - Bumped to RD, Pending
Texas - December admit, w/$

Going pretty badly so far. 3.1 169 2 years WE. I think my C&F issues are causing problems, and I'm starting to reconsider even attending law school at this point.
Georgetown - WL (this may only be due to personal connection, and even that didn't help)
BC - DING
Fordham - DING
Michigan, Cornell, BU, GWU - No decision but I expect dings.
Temple, Rutgers - Admitted
