CONGRATS!!! When were you held?
Thanks!!! I was held on 1/18.
Congrats, vzapana! Did you send a LOCI/ additional recommendation/ something else after you got held?
Thanks! I sent a LOCI, but it was an application update letter as opposed to a letter describing why Harvard would be a great fit for me. Hope this helps!

Sorry if this has already been answered.

# of applicants held?
# of applicants who move from held to admitted each year?

No one knows. It is pretty hard to calculate. You can go through this thread and count everybody. Then you can go through last year's thread and count them. Then try to match up the user to the result either by them posting what happened or if they update their LSN/profile (not everybody reports what happened).

I gave a half-assed effort to this when I first got held but it's a waste of time.

I can tell you though, just from the minimal amount of time I spent looking at last year's thread, do not expect to be admitted. Maybe 2-3 out of 20-30 users who reported back got accepted. Many were waitlisted and either withdrew or never updated what happened.

Has anyone ever seen a:

Hold ---> JS1 ---> Rejection

This seems worse than:

Rejection

Joining the ranks of those who received the held email yesterday. Just happy I wasn't an auto-ding! I knew Harvard was a long shot, but had to apply to my dream school regardless.

So now that we've seen some action from the hold pile, should we expect regular movement for some lucky few?

LSAC has just processed my updated transcript. It did raise my GPA, but not by much (.02). I am assuming that LSAC will automatically update my application with the new information. I am curious, however, if I should notify HLS of my transcript update or if they will see it without prompt. Any recommendations?

They will receive it; not worth an update letter

I assumed as much, but wanted to be certain. Thanks for the response!

I think there was only one...and it was a mid January hold. Hopefully there will be some more of us from the Island of Misfit Toys included in the next wave.

Disregard that entire message. I read post-hold JS1s for some reason. Nope, you've got plenty of company here, but don't lose hope just yet!

Why do you think that? Has it been that long since your JS1?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
