Same thing here. +1

Anybody tried negotiating scholly with Temple yet? I didn't get one, so hoping to maybe talk them into it.

Got my red packet today. No scholarship -- apparently gspiel was right that only undergrad GPA counts, not grad school. Bummer, but will just have to rock it first year and get one next year.
Congrats to everyone who's in, and look forward to seeing you part-timers in August!

Got my packet and no scholly -- they must weigh GPA more heavily than LSAT

Yeah it would be really great if anyone could shed some light on the scholly negotiation process with Temple. Is Temple historically more willing deal if one has "higher ranked" acceptances, or more money at similarly ranked schools?

Same here...I have a 169 LSAT. Not to sound like a dick, but why do they think I'd go at sticker?

Maybe it's that the don't expect you to attend. I haven't followed LSN for Temple, but I'd guess their throwing the most money to people right around both of their medians.emarxnj wrote:Granfalloon12 wrote:Got my packet and no scholly -- they must weigh GPA more heavily than LSAT

162, got 10k/year, any chance they would increase that?

I would actually say that it is more difficult to negotiate with Temple, because it is a public school working with the state budget. Needless to say, it's worth a shot.

Got my acceptance package and did not have a scholarship either. . . got a full ride to drexel and $10k to Rutgers Newark so I think I might try and negotiate. Does anyone know how to go about doing that though?

Yeah I was pretty surprised / underwhelmed... I was counting on Temple being one of my most affordable options. I guess it's worth mentioning to them eventually that I received relatively large $$'s from much higher-ranked schools, but this isn't a good start.emarxnj wrote:Granfalloon12 wrote:Got my packet and no scholly -- they must weigh GPA more heavily than LSAT

In via email (3.42/172). Completed 1/9, accepted 1/28. Don't think I'll be going without some decent money so I'm hoping for a nice packet this week.

Just saw that my status was updated on 1/25 to complete, but went complete the first time around 1/15. Anyone know if it's a sign a decision is coming soon?

My decision came a few days after the first date change.

My 2nd complete date was 1/18 but applicants who went complete after that have already gotten their decisions so I'm guessing it just depends on your numbers. If you're above or around their median, you'll probably get a decision soon.doglover0702 wrote:Just saw that my status was updated on 1/25 to complete, but went complete the first time around 1/15. Its takes about 10 weeks to hear back from Temple.
I applied in Mid-November and heard back right around 10 weeks later.

Is the beastly scholarship supposed to be full tuition? I only received 20k/yr but I thought I read that it should be full tuition?

I don't think it necessarily specifies the amount, though I think I've seen that floating around, too. It's different for in-state/out of state and it pretty much is up to the discretion of the committee, it seems.superhopefulwoo wrote:Is the beastly scholarship supposed to be full tuition? I think it varies. I got a Beasley Scholarship and mine was for 15k/year...but if you could change your residency after the first year (not sure how that works or if it's possible) 20k would be full tuition.

Re: Temple University c/o 2016 Applicants
Thank you for the responses! I guess I should try to negotiate. If anyone has any experience with Temple, I'd love to hear about it through PM - I personally have a few schools (albeit being on the West Coast) that rank a little higher and a little lower offering me the same tuiton/pretty much full tuition so I'm hoping that might work. Any thoughts/advice?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
