Re: Villanova 2016
Are there alternative methods of hearing about scholarships other than e-mail? I am above both 75ths but have not received any offer at all. I don't know whether to feel concerned/offended or just sad
. Should I call the admissions office?

That's really strange- your numbers definitely seem to warrant a substantial scholarship! I don't think it could hurt to call/email and express your strong interest in the school. I was offered a full-tuition Dean's Merit Scholarship with a 160/3.8. Maybe it's possible they thought it was unlikely you would attend with your strong numbers?

In via phone call yesterday (2/28). Pretty excited, Villanova is my 2nd choice behind Temple where I am currently wait listed.

Can anyone who was simultaneously admitted & offered a scholarship tell me what the email subject or content was? I am above both 75ths and was admitted on 2/28 via status checker, and later a voice mail (with no mention of $). So far I have only received an email about admitted students day & no formal congratulatory email. Did everyone get a typical "welcome" email, even without a scholarship offer? I'm just trying to figure out if I was passed over for a scholarship or if I should still be expecting an email from admissions this week. They had my application for a really long time, so I'm more worried about this then I'd normally be. My timeline was:
Sent: 1/3
Complete: 1/8
Under Review: 1/8
LOCI sent: 2/26
Accepted: 2/28
Sent: 1/3

Accepted: 2/28

I had very similar dates to yours except I did not send a LOCI.:phlmar wrote:Can anyone who was simultaneously admitted & offered a scholarship tell me what the email subject or content was? I was also admitted via phone call on 2/28 and they did not mention money. I received the same email about admitted students day yesterday (3/1). Later in the day I got another email with the subject "Villanova Law -Deans's Merit Award," which formally congratulated me and had all my scholarship info as well as when my seat deposit was due. Hope that helps!

Thank you, that is very helpful. I suppose that even without a scholarship they will need to tell me when the seat deposit is due, so I suppose all is not yet lost since I haven't received an email about that. When I do and there's no mention of $ I will know they hated my PS. Thanks again Mhens.Mhens wrote: I was also admitted via phone call on 2/28 and they did not mention money. I received my official acceptance letter in the mail today and it said they are still giving out merit based scholarships throughout March. So there is still hope!phlmar wrote:Thank you, that is very helpful. Any other TLS'ers waiting on a decision?
How long does it take after being "in review"?

I waited about a month, but that was partially because it was over the Christmas holidays/New Year.Lumieres wrote:Any other TLS'ers waiting on a decision?

Withdrew with a full scholarship, no stips. I hope this frees up a spot/scholarship for someone! Best of luck.

I could be misremembering it, but I think I received a snail mail notification re: scholarship BUT it was after I had already received the email.Lumieres wrote:Admitted via phone call this week.

Can someone please help me with novasis?
I received the following instructions, but can't seem to locate the mentioned links:
3. Click “Enter Secure NOVASIS area”
4. Click on link at the top for “First time users or Don't Know Your Pin?”

Go the VLS homepage (you can just google it). Then in the top right hand corner there is a drop down menu that says "quick links". Click on that and Novasis is one of the options. It will take you to another page and that's when you click "Enter Secure NOVASIS area” and it will take you to Novasis.Lumieres wrote:Can someone please help me with novasis?

Your user ID will be in one of the emails you got or you can use your social security #.

Good news for the wait list people is that the 1st wave of deposits is due this Friday, so you might start hearing updates beginning next week perhaps.

I emailed financial aid to ask about need-based grants and scholarships. They said they don't begin reviewing for these until about June. Anyone submit both the FAFSA and Need Access application and get anything besides merit-based scholarships or loans?

I was accepted back in January via phone call... and received my scholarship offer via e-mail and formal letter.
Check your spam boxes, my e-mail definitely went there first!
