Sorry about your rejection. Also, I forget if the three-prompt essay was optional or not, but if it was, did you do it?

Shit. at a 3.71/163 non-URM on 11/27, this cannot bode well for me. I'm sorry about the rejection. Things will get better, eh?gatorfan163287 wrote:Rejected. 3.67/165 non-URM. Had been UR since 11/27. Been a shitty past 2 days.
congrats! I guess it's a coin flip for me, depending on how good my softs are. Did you write the optional prompt?alle0415 wrote:Under review 11/27. Accepted via email tonight. Thank you! I didn't write the optional essay. Did you? Good luck to you!WisemanAEKDB wrote:congrats! I guess it's a coin flip for me, depending on how good my softs are. Well, that sounds like a great topic for you to choose to write about, and I think it will set you apart from the crowd. Especially since you chose to write the essay. It shows you are serious about your admittance there!WisemanAEKDB wrote:I did. I don't usually do them unless they're going to contribute to my application, and I honestly think my essay was really great. I'm hoping they take that into some consideration. I feel like UW is all about the diversity, and I'm just simply not diverse. The optional essay might have saved my ass though. I wrote about how I wanted to open a non-profit center for adult education, because I believe education is the most beneficial factor towards a greater society.
idk... but a 3.7 and a 3.75 is a significant jump... I'd update your transcripts at all schools.WisemanAEKDB wrote:So, my fall 2012 grades boosted my GPA from a 3.706 to a 3.758. My last transcript I sent to UW was before I received fall grades. Anyone think it'll make a difference if I send them an updated transcript? I'm probably so far along in the process that it doesn't much matter.
email'd just to be sure. they actually just let me submit an addendum explaining the increase. they didn't want to see transcripts because it would put a hold on my file. efficient! there's that little bump I need to get indproduct wrote:idk... but a 3.7 and a 3.75 is a significant jump... I'm in a similar situation. As a UW undergrad (Go Dawgs!), I can tell you it does not surprise me in any way that UW isn't very efficient. I hope a big wave of admits is coming soon.uconjak wrote:I haven't heard squat...in a month, got in at GW, UCLA, Iowa, and Colorado, went complete at ll schools the same day. I have heard rumors of the same, but nothing authoritative. UW likes out of state tuition money, and WA residents get such a big discount that it makes more sense for them to accept more out of state applicants instead.superhopefulwoo wrote:I heard UW undergrads are at a disadvantage not an advantage - can anyone confirm this?

The numbers do not look not favorable.Princess Consuela wrote:http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=washingtonwhatsup2b wrote:Does UW have good employment prospects?
This website is a good place to find out about employment for schools. It also breaks it down into what type of employment, where graduates work, and salaries, if available.
I'm not qualified to apply for it, so I did not. From what I can gather, past winners have extensive related WE/Volunteering on top of high end stats for UW, so it seems fairly competitive.rabbitrabbit wrote:Are there any other Gates PSL applicants here? Basically I would go to UW in a heartbeat with the scholarship, but I have NO idea of how many people apply, though it seems like perhaps not so many considering how little mention there is of the scholarship on these boards??
