I was the 166/3.1 bloke on lsn. Hoping for some money or else I won't be able to go. How long didn't take others to hear about schollys? I'm out of the country and have my parents going over to my house checking mail everyday.lschhope111 wrote:Thanks. I'm 164 3.5 but have been in review for 2/3 weeks. Seems they've been doing all the 168's and above. At least that seems to be the trend on LSN.

Ditto about the money. Judging by LSN, the amount I would need to attend might be a reach. One guy got it at my LSAT mark and another guy with a higher GPA but the same LSAT fell short by 25k or so. Don't know what accounts for the difference. We'll see what happens.WanderingPondering wrote:I was the 166/3.1 bloke on lsn. Hoping for some money or else I won't be able to go. Schollys come with the admit packet, from what I've heard.
Does anyone know when we will hear about the subject-specific fellowships? I applied for the Election Law fellowship, wondering what the process is. Will they tell me if I was selected in my admit packet?

I got my scholarship info in the mail with my acceptance packet 3 days after I got the email. It included a graduate fellowship, but I didn't apply for that, so I can't speak to other fellowships being included.seancris wrote:Ditto about the money. It seems like just about everyone who got a scholarship also got a graduate fellowship which requires doing research in some subject or another. Maybe they just assign fellowship winners who wrote an application essay to their subject of choice?ks2499 wrote:I got my scholarship info in the mail with my acceptance packet 3 days after I got the email. Otherwise I would think that there would be more information about the selection process, can't find anything aside from the description of each fellowship on the website.

Hm, yeah, I guess you could be right. The letter just said the graduate fellowship grants in-state tuition plus a small stipend and requires 10 hrs work per week (except during finals). I think it's just administrative the first year and then you can choose administrative or research work the final two years, though on the phone Dean Shealy implied that the mentorship relationship you develop with faculty makes research more worthwhile.seancris wrote: It seems like just about everyone who got a scholarship also got a graduate fellowship which requires doing research in some subject or another. Re: William & Mary c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I got in on the 8th which was surprising because my LSAT is in the 25th percentile and I am not a URM or nontraditional student. I got a small scholly offer but I did not get a fellowship (I didn't apply because I thought I was a long-shot). I really want to go to William and Mary but it is a bit too pricey so I am on the fence. :/

Mega-splitter here: 3.3/177. WM undergrad too if that makes any difference. Application went complete 11/27, admitted 11/28 so I wonder if a human ever even saw my application or if it was an almost computerized auto-admit.lschhope111 wrote:Good stuff everybody. Would you guys mind posting your stats if you got in? Interested to see if there's any pattern to how they're getting to each application?

Wow! 177 is crazy, man. Congrats. You could probably make more money teaching the LSAT than practicing law.2012Split177 wrote:Mega-splitter here: 3.3/177. Mine seemed pretty automatic, too. 2 days or less in review. I think that's just how W&M rolls when it comes to applicants above/near the 75ths.

Got the email yesterday. Glad to know I'll have at least one alternative to Waco, Texas. Anxious, though, for the snail mail and to find out if there's a graduate fellowship or any other monies flowing out out Williamsburg.

Admitted via status checker, but I still haven't gotten the email. What's up with that?

Got an email from WM asking me to submit my fall grades. Could this be a good or bad sign? cuz my current GPA is at their median and lsat at 25%. I have been keeping up good work this semester though.

Probably just their standard due diligence, but I doubt they'd bother getting that info for someone they were planning to auto-ding.hhqq wrote:Got an email from WM asking me to submit my fall grades. I never got an email. In via status checker, a phone call about a week later from the dean and packet in the mail around the same time.
Also got a call from a student yesterday asking if I had questions.
So I wouldn't worry about not getting an email.

In on the 28th. 3.67/165.
Received my packet today on the 30th. Got a decent amount of money along with being given in-state tuition instead of out of state.
This was my first acceptance and hopefully wont be my last! Good luck to everyone!

I used the status checker, received e-mail a day later (11/28) and the packet 2 days after (11/30)lschhope111 wrote:Congrats, did you get an email or did you see through the status checker?

To those who were wondering, I got admitted 11/27 and received my mailed acceptance packet today 11/30 which included all scholarship information.

Therefore:
Complete: 11/15
Complete and in Review:11/15 (which I found odd)
Admitted: 11/27
Mailing: 11/30 + $$$
To those around the medians I wish I could give you a better sense for when to expect things but I was astonished I went from complete to receiving my acceptance package in 15 days.
Hope that's helpful. To those who went "in review" early-mid November (esp those around/below medians), keep in mind the school was closed for Thanksgiving so they probably are backed up a bit. Don't lose hope!!!!
