I got (what I think was an 'informal') email about scholarship a couple days after the email about admission. The snail mail seemed wayyy behind - but it came all at once in one envelope.JXander wrote:Awesome, thanks. After how long after you were accepted did you receive it?mg7 wrote:There was a separate letter that came along with my admissions letter (snail mail).JXander wrote:To those accepted... how did you find out about scholarships?

When was yours mailed? Mine was mailed on 2/12 and still hasn't arrived. Just worried it got lost in the mail.JXander wrote:Scholarship offer email today: $7,500 a year.

Yeah, thinking about it. Gotta check my schedule for availability.Jredelman15 wrote:Nice! Are you thinking about going to the Scholarship Ceremony and ASD?airbud wrote:In with Dean's Scholarship! $20K/yr. 3.85/167/strong softs.
I need to run this scholarship news by UT sometime this week or next. I know I want to work in Houston and am highly debt-averse. That being said, U of H is looking attractive relative to UT right now. Not sure how willing UT will be to negotiate...

They sent mine to my permanent address, but emailed it to me at the same time. I would check with them (remember to email a specific person) and see if they can PDF your letter to you.po1 wrote:When was yours mailed? Mine was mailed on 2/12 and still hasn't arrived. JRedelman- I recall from before that you contacted Jamie to negotiate scholarships. How long did it take to initially hear back from Jamie and then for UH to ultimately give a decision?

At first, I spoke with Jamie but didn't hear anything. I then called down to Nathan and he told me to send the email. Next day, he called and awarded me with a scholly. He is the go to guy in the office for me. He always responds promptly. I emailed Jamie 2 days ago with questions and I haven't heard a thing. Go with Nathan Neeley he is a boss.elliephant wrote:JRedelman- I recall from before that you contacted Jamie to negotiate scholarships. Hey everyone! I received an email saying my app was complete on 1/24, current status date is 2/22, still nothing. Anyone else in my position? Here's hoping!

I didn't, because my status never said "missing residency questions." I'm a TX resident. Is this something I should have done? Thanks for the prompt reply!shifty_eyed wrote:Did you send in the residency questionnaire?ajhoffman wrote:Hey everyone! If your status says "missing residency questions," please complete the residency questionnaire available at http://www.law.uh.edu/admissions/tx-residency-info.html.
Update- February 2, 2012:
To facilitate prompt file review, applicants who do not return the residency questionnaire within 2 weeks of submitting their JD application will have their residency status changed to OUT OF STATE and placed in the queue for the admissions committee. If your residency is listed as OUT OF STATE, but you think that you qualify for Texas residency, please return the residency questionnaire as soon as possible for reconsideration.

I'm an instate resident whose status said "missing residency questionnaire" until I mailed it in. I think only people who were recently enrolled/currently enrolled at a public Texas school are exempt from this questionnaire.ajhoffman wrote:I didn't, because my status never said "missing residency questions." I'm currently enrolled in a Texas university, so I guess they're just taking a bit longer to decide. Fingers crossed that they make their decision soon! Is anyone else still waiting?shifty_eyed wrote:I'm an instate resident whose status said "missing residency questionnaire" until I mailed it in. Jamie finally responded to my e-mail by saying they are not negotiating scholarships until closer to summer-time... so this could be bad news for all.
Or she might just be a big fat liar who doesn't like me. *shrug*
