Just to clarify, those dates were in December?ssanonymous wrote:Yeah, this cycle might be a little more unpredictable since the apps came out pretty late. I imagine calls will go out before the break though. Last year calls went out on the 9th, 16th, and 20th. Two years ago calls went out on 6th-10th, 13th, and 20th-21st. Three years ago - 9th, 11th, 14th, and 22nd.Cicero76 wrote:So IIRC, some people started hearing back from Yale around this time last year. Any hope for that, or will it probably be later because they didn't accept applications until later this year?
Good luck everyone!

Soooo... I have been putting on Yale forever b/c of the unlikelihood of acceptance coupled with the 250 and EC essay requirements. Anyways, here I am in December wondering if I should submit the app (I'll probably have time this week to finish it up). I already have some great options, but did I shoot myself already for waiting this long? Any TLS speculative wisdom that could be shared? I know supposedly Yale doesn't care about timing... is anyone else in my boat?

You're fine. The Dean of Admissions said, on the "Ask Asha" blog, that it really doesn't matter when you apply because all apps go through the same review process and they don't have trouble filling a class. They just aim to pick the top applicants (gotta love Yale). Just meet the March 1st deadline. I submitted like last week for the very reasons that you mentioned in your first sentence. lolyarsten wrote:Soooo... I submitted 3 weeks ago and never got a confirmation/complete email. I emailed Yale Admissions asking about the status about a week ago and still haven't received an answer. What is going on?? Has anyone had that happen to them?

No, but there's nothing more you can do at this point. I don't think it means anything though.lsacqueen wrote:I submitted 3 weeks ago and never got a confirmation/complete email. No. It's the number 1 school in the country, so writing a "Why Yale" would generally be considered trolling.mmbt123 wrote:do people generally write a "why yale?"

Oooh, thanks! I was afraid I'd be the only one with a bullet-type list.Ti Malice wrote:I just wrote a couple of general sentences and then referred the reader to my (detailed) résumé. I got the admit call five weeks after my app went complete, so I don't think going about it this way annoyed anyone too badly.UMich11 wrote:What have you been doing since graduation essay??
Has anyone done this and how detailed has it been, length, etc? i don't want to restate my Resume but i have been working since graduation 2 years ago and not much else other than playing polo/rowing in the local area.

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
You have nothing to worry about as long as you submit the app before the deadline. Dean Asha is not trying to deceive anyone. Turn in your app only when you believe that you can't improve it any further.vman21 wrote:I am in the same situation. I really should have applied by now, but I keep rewriting/rethinking my 250...
I am praying Asha is right and there is no penalty for applying late. Just to be sure I plan to finish before the new year...
Good luck everyone (I, at least, will need it!)
