Got an email from OUTLAW at Chicago today, seemingly similar to the emails that Harvard intended to send out a few weeks ago (although this one didn't mistakenly tell me I was admitted.)

Anyone else getting a similar email? Hoping it might be a sign, but very doubtful. Probably just a generic thing they send to all gay people... maybe even through CRS and not even only to applicants.

I got it as well, and I applied a couple of months ago.

Submitted RD yesterday. Wasn't going to apply, but they sent me a fee waiver so I figured why not? Also looks like their OutLaw branch is active, like you guys said, which is a definite plus for me. Not sure why I hadn't considered Chicago before.

Well the outlaw email did include something along the lines of "while Chicago isn't for everyone, it is great for some." That basically sums up what I've ever heard of the school.

Yea, I submitted a while ago. Early/mid September, IIRC.

I think Chicago's my top choice right now, actually. I love the academic environment, all my favorite professors went there (maybe they're encouraging me to go there a little bit...) and the estimated COA is the lowest of the T14. Perhaps I should have ED'ed... Oh well, too late now.

Did you ED somewhere else? Chi deadline is Dec 1.

Where are you seeing this? I'm very surprised that it is cheaper than Duke, which has a lot of COA benefits becuase Durham is dirt cheap

EDIT: Looked it up for myself...Duke is about 2k more thanks to higher tuition
