I'd hope they'd let us know if it was pushed back though. They've been one of the most transparent schools thus far... ie warning before acceptance calls, letting us know to look for an email this week, etc. Silence on their twitter so far today though.

Can anyone remind me what concrete evidence we have to expect the scholly email this week?
I received an email on February 8 from the Class of 2015 address. In part:
We anticipate that scholarship awards will be released the week of February 20. You will receive an email with a letter indicating whether you have been awarded a scholarship. Please note that we do not differentiate awards into merit- and need-based. Everyone will also receive a preliminary student loan package with this email. It is not necessary for you to have completed the FAFSA in order to receive this package; this will simply be a preliminary loan package indicating the amounts that you will likely be able to borrow if you wish. You will receive an official financial aid package later in the spring after the May 15 FAFSA deadline where you will be able to accept or decline particular loans and amounts.

Tweet: We'd hoped to get financial aid awards out for January admits today, but Committee is still finalizing. Going to be early next week instead.

The suspense is killing me. I was hoping that tweet was a joke.

LOL - where do you live?

Around here (the South) nobody knows what UIC is, but I've been impressed by how many people know about the University of Chicago - even people who aren't academics, lawyers, economists, etc. I was talking to a high school history teacher last night, for example, and once I told him all the places I'd been accepted to, he was all about Chicago (above Columbia, Duke, Vandy, etc).

What's UIC? I'm from the South, too, and go to school in the Northeast...people know UChicago. I'm assuming most (myself included clearly) don't know what UIC is.

Haha. It's university of Illinois-Chicago. It's happened multiple times. "Congrats on uic." Glad it's just here then.

I live in the Midwest.. kind of ironic that uchicago seems to be more well known outside of its own region, at least anecdotally. Everyone would be amazed by northwestern. Must be the big ten factor.

Most students go with Regents. It's a bit on the pricier side, so if you're willing to apartment hunt yourself, you'll be able to find better deals in Hyde Park.

The Del Prado apts (linked in the above post) are very nice and just south of Regents.

The Del Prado apts look really nice. With Regents' deal for students though, seems like Regents is a better cost per square foot. Is there any benefit to that Regents shuttle vs some other complex along the bus route?

How much is a two bedroom at regents? Are prices posted? Looked and didn't see it..but I'm on my phone and tend to miss things on it.
