Cali, where in California are you coming from? I'm also going to be carrying a huge suitcase because 30/40 degrees for me does NOT mean a light coat. That's like igloo weather!
LA. You? I'm going to NYC right after ASW for the weekend, so I'm right there with you for the giant suitcase.
P.S. I didn't get your contact info via PM, but I'm happy to take care of a contact list for anyone who's interested.

Hey Cali, I'll be there too. It would be awesome if you could start a contact list so we can all meet up. PM us :) Also, I feel you guys on the weather gear...I'm coming from South Florida and 30/40 degrees just make me nervous.

Coming from south Texas, and I'm hella excited for coldish weather. I'm from Missouri and I miss winter!

I started a Google spreadsheet for Names, E-mail Addresses (or should we do phone #s?), and "Coming From" (i.e. LA). To protect everyone's privacy, I'm making this sheet private to only people who let me know their contact info. Also, just b/c I'm slightly paranoid about web privacy, I'll be verifying people through the GULC Admitted Students FB group.

To get added onto the contact sheet, PM me with the a.m. info and I'll give you access. Look forward to seeing you guys there!

Is anyone else concerned about the graph for GULC on law school transparency? I was looking at another thread listing employment stats for each school and noticed there was no link for Gtown so I looked it up on LST

--LinkRemoved--

Only 55.6% of grads reporting a salary, and if you take out the unemployed its closer to 50%. This is all very low for a T14.

Yes, it is definitely concerning to me. While I do wish there was more current information out there, I find some solace after reading a few different articles that consistently list GULC alum among the highest performing and well regarded lawyers in the legal profession. I really wish I could find them again, but one broke it down both nationally and then by region. IIRC, GULC placed only behind Harvard nationally, and did very well in every other market. I personally know a lawyer that graduated last year is working in Denver who echoed a similar point - that GULC opened a great deal of doors for him, and that he found the USNWR rankings under emphasized the value of their JD based on his own job search.

This was stricty within the corporate biglaw field. Personally, I think the scrutiny placed on schoos to provide inforation has been much more heavy in the last few years, and I would hope that GULC will step up and attempt to better comminicate their statistics.

In absolute numbers? Or proportionally as compared to the overall size of a school's graduating class? Harvard and GULC are the largest law schools out there, so their ranking in absolute numbers in each market doesn't mean that much for biglaw job prospects (except if one is evaluating the alumni network).

I don't mean to knock Georgetown--my husband is a 2010 GULC grad and has a great biglaw job in a top market, as do many of his classmates.

I just found out i am in via obtaining info via the asw. Very excited. Quick question: Georgetown is known as one of the t-14 that gives out the least money. Does anyone have a good picture of the merit based money that gtown gives out, and when Georgetown starts releasing that info? I haven't gotten my official package yet, so I am a little bit blind at this point. Nevertheless, I would like to know.

Thanks!

I thought the article was reputation focused, but I really need to find it to say for sure. Though I am also pretty sure BC was ranked 3 or 4, and I am not sure of their class size.

I RSVP'd today and all was well. The actual form says the 18th, so you have a little time to decide :).

Yeah, all I could find on their website was this:

http://www.law.georgetown.edu/factSheet ... et2005.pdf

Which is from 2005....

I'm sure their job placement is fine it does seem to me that they are just not as transparent or diligent about it as they should be. Most of the other T14 schools on LST have 70-90% of their class reporting salary.

Either way, it's worth raising to an official next week. I nominate you
