I'm not sure how much being late would affect it, but if you look at LSN, people with similar numbers have gotten around 20k a year or so from Nova so its probably worth a shot. That would make it almost the same cost as in state tuition at Temple.

Temple is my number one choice so i'm getting a little anxious over all of this waiting. On other TLS threads I've read that people have emailed or called admissions to express their interest in the school and have received admittance within the enxt few days. I'm thinking about sending an email to temple admissions but I'm worried that if I let them know how much I want to attend it might effect they amount of scholly money they offer. Any thoughts?

Are you admitted anywhere else? did they give you any scholarship offers at that school? also, how long has your application been in their posession. I think these are all factors to consider. I wouldnt send them an email like this unless that have had your application for 8-12 weeks and you have seen no movement. If you do choose to submit a letter of continued interest you should try to increase your value by showing any comparable information that they may wish to compete with (like an admissions and scholarship offer from a peer or higher ranked school).

Has anyone had success negotiating aid? This is definitely my weakest offer so far ($35k from both Cardozo and Brooklyn, $7.5k from Temple) but it's among my top choices. I see other people have been getting disappointing offers, too, so surely someone has tried negotiation?

I was going to wait to hear about aid offers from some higher ranked schools before negotiating, unless people had some great success stories.

1st complete 12/19, 2nd complete 1/21, admitted 1/23 with scholly offer in the mail about a week later.

Considering the university just got whacked with another 30 42 million dollar budget cut from the state for next year, I doubt they're going to negotiate much.

Hey, just for the sake of clarity, that announced budget cut is still merely proposed. Corbett likes to start the negotiations with a very high proposed cut, and then settle somewhere slightly less ridiculous. It's bad news though, because I'm sure some sort of substantial cut will eventually be passed. Needless to say, we are all contacting our representatives and voicing the requisite level of outrage.

Kinda success, but not really... I am in state with about 3,500k a year. They said I could qualify for the Beasley Scholarship if I write an essay, which would increased my scholly to 12,500K a year with the in state tuition. A nice increase, but it is not guaranteed :/

Applied last week of Dec. and I'm still waiting. Not terribly long, but I've already heard back from most of my other top choices. With the aid 'nova gave me, temple (in state) at sticker is more expensive, but it remains #1. LSN looked like they release decisions in batches though, so I suppose I can rest for a bit with the status checker.

On another note, has anyone else visited? I had been worried about the facilities compared to 'Nova and PSU, but after sitting in on a class, I was fairly impressed!

They asked me to write a one to two page essay on why i want to attend Temple and what I will bring to the Temple community to raise my scholly from 3750 a year to 12500 a year...I am going to write it but i have full tuition offers from Villanova, Cardozo, and Washington and Lee so I don't know hopw much I would be willing to pay for Temple

Did your acceptance emails say anything about scholarship information? Mine just said ,"An acceptance packet with additional information for admitted students has been mailed to you and you should be receiving it shortly."..... Hopefully that doesn't mean that I didn't get any money

I got scholarship $ and my email said the same thing. It's just a generic email so if you get money it will be in your packet.
