I'm becoming a little frustrated. I can't imagine why I have stayed under review since February 9.

Are you a current student at LSU? Both me and my friend both submitted around the same time (end of October) and I heard back much sooner than him. He has better stats than me, but is a current LSU student, whereas I graduated already. So maybe they are taking longer with current students for whatever reason? I know it doesn't make much sense, but that's all I got.

I feel your pain.

Only reason that I can think of for me is that I am a Texas resident.

What's the official name of the scholarship LSU has been offering? I'm at work without my letter and trying to send an email... :)

LSU student, FL resident. Well above LSU numbers. Yield shouldn't be an issue; I met personally with an admissions counselor who gave me a fee waiver.

This combined with the email/web chat fiasco makes the entire process seem unorganized.

Fee waivers are meaningless. Did you apply late?

If you have deposit numbers then you're in.[/quote]

I literally just sent app in last night. Got email today to set up status checker. First time I set up status checker (Status says "Sent") I have deposit numbers listed on my screen ($200, 300, etc.) with dates.

Are you sure the deposit numbers don't appear until you're accepted? Would they have just updated everyone this time?

Thanks!

Quit whining. Too many whiners ITT.

I applied in October. Went UR in December and just got in last week. Took them 10 weeks. They explained that they are backed up in terms of reviewing applications.

Everyone just be patient. You will hear something soon.

Its safest to assume that deposit numbers mean nothing. Just because some people had deposit numbers and got in, doesn't mean there are people who got those numbers and were rejected.

Sorry, I thought someone who was accepted said that under the "due amount" it should have numbers and not 0s.

For me personally, I am waitlisted and it does show the amounts of the deposits to the very left. It only shows 0s under "amount due" and "amount paid" with blank spaces under "date due" and "date paid".

Also, GeauxTigers, who is admitted, posted:
GeauxTigers7 wrote:$200 seat deposit - 4/2/12
$300 seat deposit - 5/2/12
Not sure if that is in his status checker or not.

Hi applicants! I know that ASW and other events are coming up, so it's getting to decision time. Just reaching out if any of you have any questions about student life, LSU, etc. I have no idea what takes the admissions office so long, but I'll answer what I can. Current 2L, top 25%, engineering degree. Just shoot me a message. Good luck!

Awesome, Thanks!

By the way, who all is planning on attending the cocktail reception/visiting day next weekend?

There is a good chance I will be there.

I noticed the preview day is on a saturday... I guess we will not be able to sit in on any actual classes? Does anyone know?

I work at the Law Center, and I'm pretty sure in past years they've had a "Mock Class" with a case to read before ASD. So no, no actual class, but I think the professors try to make it as close to actual classes as they can (calling on students they've met earlier in the day, etc.)

They do, and the class is usually a pretty good experience. My year Professor Trahan conducted the class, and it was a decent representation of a real class, snarky comments and all. But if he meets you at the cocktail party the night before, be aware that he may call on you in class! Everyone he cold called in the mock class (including myself) was someone he met the night before.

I'm sorry, I didn't check the site again until this morning. I hope you somehow found the link though.

How'd the chat go? Any useful information about admissions?

Took me about a month and I only received it by mail
