In via email, 175, 3.4 in state! Especially satisfying too since I got waitlisted for UG there haha. Anyone want to guess my chances at a scholarship?

Re: UNC c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Hey -- yeah, my file was "application complete, under review" from 2/2 until last night...now it says "decision rendered" and then the decision status is a congrats message.
Has anyone heard anything about Chancellor's Scholars emails being part of the admit email? Per their website, the weekend for it is the 2/24-2/25...which is getting pretty close. Totally possible none of us on here got invites, but looking at some of the numbers people posted that were admitted yesterday I feel like at least one person in that bunch would have been invited? Maybe they're doing a separate email about that in a week or so? I took the "scholarships will go out in late Feb/early March" message in my email to mean I didn't end up being considered for it. Best of luck to anybody that did get the invite!!
oh yeah....GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!! can't wait for tonight

Separate email. And I'm pretty sure the "scholarships will go out in late Feb/early March" part is just a standard thing they put there for everyone. I wouldn't read into it. The weekend is getting kind of close, though.. they're probably scrambling right now. I seriously think that if the emails had gone out, we'd have heard something on here.rds wrote:Has anyone heard anything about Chancellor's Scholars emails being part of the admit email? Congrats to all the admits! Does anyone have any idea when the next round will be? Sometime in mid-March maybe? Also, does anyone know if they do waitlisting or rejections as they go, or just wait until they have admitted everyone they want to (so in May)?

Does anyone know if UNC gives in-state tuition to OOS students as part of a scholarship offer? I understand gaining residency in NC can be tough.

The UNC System will continue to raise tuition and cut services, students will continue to get 'Facebook upset' and a few will actually go protest, and the powers that be will continue to use the "Well, it's still a much better deal than private schools" argument. It sucks, but there's nothing I personally can do about it except pay higher tuition and bank on getting a good job.

Has anyone called UNC's admissions to inquire about when more decisions may go out? I thought about calling but they seem pretty adamant about not doing that on the status checker. I was just wondering if anyone had tried and how the experience was with admissions..

They say "if you have any question, please do not hesitate to call." Go for it.

Ugh. I just checked and saw that people with similar numbers to mine have received admissions decisions from UNC after deposit deadlines have passed for other schools. I really hope that doesn't happen this year.

My status went from Application Complete to Under Review yesterday evening, but when I checked at about 9:00 p.m. it was back to Application Complete!! Did this happen to anyone else? I'm trying to determine which schools to seriously consider (and, therefore, visit), but UNC is really holding out in terms of decisions.

This did not happen for me and I don't seem to be alone in that I waited for months just to get to "application complete." Frankly, I'm jealous your status temporarily changed to Under Review, even if it was for only a few hours.LawSchool2015 wrote:My status went from Application Complete to Under Review yesterday evening, but when I checked at about 9:00 p.m. it was back to Application Complete!! Mine has actually been application complete since mid-November. I was so pumped last night, and then quickly deflated. I like your way of thinking though. I guess my few-hour status change is better than none? It's probably just a good indication that my application hasn't gone missing. So that's helpful.Dabearsss wrote:This did not happen for me and I don't seem to be alone in that I waited for months just to get to "application complete." Did your current status date change as well? I didn't check my status last night, so I couldn't be sure if mine changed, but my status date is still the same as it has always been (10/25) so I'm guessing I didn't get any movement.LawSchool2015 wrote:Mine has actually been application complete since mid-November. My status date did change. It is now 2/15. I don't know that this is necessarily an indication of true movement... we shall see.Tyson22 wrote:Did your current status date change as well?
