I applied ED sent mine in on Nov. 1 went into review Nov. 18, and still haven't heard anything which is kind of surprising considering it was the first app I sent in. I guess my PS might of pissed off someone on the admissions committee.JimmysParty wrote:Wow those are some disparate timings, 5 days and 2 months. I turned in my application just before the holidays and then just got my admit on Jan 13 as well. I was just curious about how the review process might work.
Congrats to those that got in and good luck with the rest of your schools.

They didn't start releasing decisions until 1/5 or so, so don't worry about it. It's still early in their cycle.zanzbar wrote:I applied ED sent mine in on Nov. 1 went into review Nov. 18, and still haven't heard anything which is kind of surprising considering it was the first app I sent in. Has anyone received a rejection letter as an early decision applicant yet? My status is stuck on "file in review" as of 12/21/11.

Pretty furious right now. I hadn't been logging into status checkers until recently and when I logged into houston's I found out I have another residency questionnaire to fill out. I sent them an e-mail a couple days ago to figure out if this will be affecting my chances. No response. Encouraging. Ridiculous. I think when I'm down there this weekend I'm going to visit the admissions office personally. How much do you think my chances are affected by sending this in now, rest of the app was complete 11/16.

Don't worry about it. I had the same thing too. My status had changed to admitted before they emailed asking for the residency info. Letter came a few days after I emailed it back in. I applied in Oct. and don't think it held up my application at all (a day max).frostmo wrote:Pretty furious right now. Hey congrats! I was admitted on jan 13. How long did it take for your admit letter/package to arrive? I've never been to Houston but strongly considering, especially if the price is right.citykitty wrote:I got my packet in the mail today. I don't know what took so long.

I was admitted on 1/2 and the packet was mailed 1/10 IIRC. Houston's a great city and a solid school in the Texas market. I have family and friends there, but it's probably not going to be the right choice for me.shroeder wrote:Hey congrats! I was admitted on jan 13. Just updated to 1/20 in review from 1/5 in review. Feeling pretty frustrated with that little tease. Come on, Coogs!

Got the decision rendered - admitted update on the 14th but still no letter or package. Is this normal to have to wait so long?
