Yeah, Louisville seems to really be on the ball. I don't know if it's because applications are down or what the deal is this year. Either way, it works out for us. lol

I'm out of the country for the first one so it will have to be the second. I'm still deciding where I want to go to law school but I will probably attend the asd to help make my decision.WVUguy11 wrote:Which asd are you all going to?

The second. I'd rather go to the first one but can't.WVUguy11 wrote:Which asd are you all going to?
I agree with Niedermeyer. I'm really glad they are a fast turn around with the applications because it significantly shortened the cycle for me!

I'm not sure if I will be able to attend either actually. So is the purpose of these things to just sell you on the law school?

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to attend, but I already know enough about the school, and I work on the weekends. Makes it financially difficult to attend. Cest La Vie.
Anyone else going to try to negotiate scholarships with Louisville?

Where do students live? Do most people commute?

Re: Louisville 2010 Applicants
yeah, UofL is a big commuter school even for undergrad. I personally wouldn't live right near the school either, it's not the best area. If you live in the Highlands or off Frankfort Avenue (Clifton/Crescent Hill) you could be a 15 minute drive from the school. If you have questions about neighborhoods or anything pm me.Amir N wrote:Where do students live? Do most people commute?

I received my acceptance packet today and I'm disappointed with my scholarship offer. I realize IS tuition is cheap in KY but I actually sort of want to leave the state and this isn't much incentive to stay.

I haven't completely ruled out Louisville but yeah I'm leaning more toward Loyola, I love Chicago too! I still plan to go to a couple ASDs before I make my decision though.Neidermeyer519 wrote:So you're feeling Loyola after your chicago visit? I love Chicago so I couldnt say I blamed ya.

Sounds like a plan to me. I wish ya the best of luck wherever you decide to go! I'm still trying to procure some work for some law firms in town before I head off to law school. Figure any experience I can get will help to maximize my opportunities for summer work after my 1L year.

Re: Louisville 2010 Applicants
That is good to know. We lived in Crescent Hill for a couple of years and then bought a house in the Highland before we moved. We are/were debating renting closer to the UoL when we move back but safety is a major factor to me. I don't know anything about the west side or UoL area except that it is generally categorized as unsafe (right or wrong).ashrh01 wrote:yeah, UofL is a big commuter school even for undergrad. If you are considering moving to a certain area you can always look up the crimes in that area here http://www.louisvilleky.gov/metropolice/ and look for the link to online crime mapping.Jdenniscpa wrote:That is good to know. just put in an address or intersection of where you want to move and it will show you what types of crimes have occurred in the past 90 days.

My girlfriend and I are going to be living in The Province. Really nice and only a few minutes walk from the law school. Only downside is how much it costs.
