FTMFW.....

Full OOS tuition. Very Nice!

Thanks love....makes it difficult now of course....
Haha, well, a good predicament to be in.
I'd say all that would beat this would be a similar (or larger) scholarship offer from a higher ranked school in your preferred region.

Finally listed as ready for review. Given their timeframe so far, I should be finding out on Christmas Eve.

I would agree with you. Especially since I'm the rare snowflake who has no clue where she wants to practice
My top choices now are UIUC and Texas. Wake if scholarships come into play. Still have a ton of pending apps at higher schools but I'm really happy with what I have now.

I'm sure not everyone that got in wrote it, but, as always, it couldn't hurt. I did write it though.

I didn't write a Why Illinois essay, but I did include a Why Illinois paragraph in my PS.

That's what I did with every school. I wanted to go above and beyond simply substituting "University of X" for "University of Y"

From reading interviews of Pless and speaking with him at the LSAC forum, i think it helps to write it. However, I think its more to show you're writing and persuasion abilities than showing interest in Illinois. But showing interest probably still helps some.

I wrote one but it was very informal. Explaining how my mentor/ favorite professor actually went to Illinois Law for a while and absolutely adored it and compelled me to similarly adore it

I didn't write one

I wrote a specific one for only the schools that I really wanted to go to. If they had an optional one and I didn't have anything to say, I didn't write it. Similarly, if there was no option but I wanted to express my interest anyway, I sent one. Hasn't hurt me yet.

For those of you who are up for a decision next Friday, does your status checker say Under Review yet? I went complete 11/15 although it now says 11/19, and mine doesn't say UR. I really hope I'm in the next batch tho!
