Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
I hear ya. I feel the same way. I was hoping the more mature crowd would equal a slightly less stressful environment given that people who have experienced the stresses of adult life bring perspective to the crisis du jour. I remember that when I was in my early 20's I thought that everyone in their 30's must have the easy life. Now I know its not easier at all, you just get better at dealing with the stresses of life.
UVA's frat atmosphere, which I know is the topic of many a TLS argument, was one of the largest reasons I ED'd at NU instead of UVA. That and I like Chicago about a trillion times better than Charlottsville.

My status checker page totally changed. But no decisions, just extra info-
EDIT: I might be crazy. I didn't think it originally had all the "information when" stuff, but I'm tired and sick so who knows...

Indeed. As much as the folks at NU stress the collaborative atmosphere I certainly hope it is friendly. I would bet the whole "we don't rank our students" thing helps too.Remnantofisrael wrote:I hear ya. I feel the same way. I think they just changed the look of the status checker (at least for mine, RD). The information seems to be the same.

Ditto. The information hasn't changed, just the style sheet for the webpage.hipstermafia wrote:I think they just changed the look of the status checker (at least for mine, RD). The information seems to be the same.

I wasn't an ED-er last cycle but my email came @ 4:42 EST, so I'm sure some of this angst is premature.

i don't know if angst is the right word- when I hear it I always think of this-homestyle28 wrote:I wasn't an ED-er last cycle but my email came @ 4:42 EST, so I'm sure some of this angst is premature.

p.s. I'm not really trying to argue points of speech but rather looking for an excuse to post that image.
