I'm with you man. Except in my case, I'm not sure if Michigan is worth the extra $70k. I don't want to work in Texas in particular, but if I have to work in a big market to pay off my loans. I'd rather work in Dallas or Houston than Manhattan.

Also trying to decide between money at UT or sticker at higher ranked schools. At what point do yall think its worth passing up on the money?

I think this is inherently a personal thing. For me, H CC P would be worth going to at sticker. Even then, if one of those let me in, I might choke when it came time to sign a 180k loan.

I really want to chose Berkeley, but Penn cost so much less for me. I wish I could use the UT money as a leverage at Berkeley, but I can't :

so right now UT isn't a bad choice due to my goals.

I'm not going anywhere at sticker (didn't apply at HYS) and those are the only places i'd go for full price). For me, it's Texas at roughly $20k per year, Michigan at $33k per year, or Smu/Houston/Baylor for free. I'm sure I want to practice in Texas. I really have no idea what to do yet. I'm visiting in all of them in March and I'll decide from there I guess.

Just chiming in here...60k at Texas is a much wiser investment than a full ride at SMU/Baylor/UH. If you want to practice in Texas, UT is a better choice than Michigan.

From what I've heard (law students, a few lawyers), the firms here draw really heavily from Texas.

Realistically, I would prefer to work in California any day of the week. The only problem with California is... well... let me refer to my friends at the Economist.

Texas looks like its getting more cosmopolitan by the day and it has some pretty awesome food. I'd be fine starting my career there.

i just got a call from UT. didn't pick up. and they left a voice mail. they said i'm admitted. i'm way below their LSAT median, and i'm international. (they have 35% out of state limit, right?)

do you guys all get phone calls? or it's a scam?????

if it's not a scam, it's the best day ever in January!!!

Thank you. Yes, I've heard. I think what I'm really excited for is knowing whether I got any $$. I heard the scholly letter can come with the acceptance letter (or later).

I got the call earlier this week. If I got any scholly money...it's going to be really really hard to beat...

I've heard of people hearing about scholly over the phone when Dean Ingram calls. But it can definitely come later if it wasn't mentioned in the call.

She told me that I will be getting a letter, which came the week after. No amount mentioned on the phone.

Does anyone know what their policy is for matching scholarships from other schools? Will they even consider matching with lower ranked schools?
