Are you a Texas resident?cholza00 wrote:So is there a consensus on whether or not RD applicant who submitted early are considered with EA applicants??? I saw some people alluding to this. For whatever reason (my own stupidity really) I checked RD instead EA. I've been complete since early October though... No phone call, no hold email... 3.71/172... so I'm hoping it's not a ding... getting nervous though. I'm hoping i'm just being considered with the RD's at this point haha.

I seriously doubt it's a ding, unless YP.cholza00 wrote:So is there a consensus on whether or not RD applicant who submitted early are considered with EA applicants??? I'm very sorry to hear that. I was hoping you would get good news, you seemed so invested. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. You have a second number one choice?Marionberry wrote:Dinged via snail mail.

Thanks. I would ED to UVA, but since I can't stay in Austin my fiancee is going to have to move with me, and I don't know if there are any options as far as her transferring her job in Charlottesville. It looks it will probably be SMU or U of H, which is fine.rupret1 wrote:I'm very sorry to hear that. I was hoping you would get good news, you seemed so invested. Dallas is pretty nice, that's my hometown. The job market is good there, LCOL, and the SMU campus is really pretty. Not sure about U of H. Houston gives me the heebie-jeebies.Marionberry wrote:Thanks. I have a strange affinity for Houston, so I would be happy there too. And I might even get some scholarship money at either of those schools, which would be pretty nice. Good luck to everyone else!

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Sorry to hear you were ding'ed Marionberry. You and I submitted fairly early, missed the wave of acceptance calls and the hold emails. Looks like I might be subjected to a snail-mail ding as well.
But, if it was going to be a ding, at least it's still relatively early. You still have time to submit other applications at a decent time and also make plans with your fiance's employment. I've also got a working SO, so transferrability issues will also influence my decision (once I start hearing back..... cricket.... cricket...) Good luck with the rest of your applications!

@marionberry did they update your status check or email you or anything before you got the letter? UT w/ the blindside mail ding would be a mean move!

Since you're in Austin and I'm in Houston, I guess its just taking an extra day for me to get my snail mail ding. I'm sure you'll get into SMU and UH with a ton of cash to boot.Marionberry wrote:No status update, no email.

Denied at UT via status checker today. 162 / 3.91. I am from Austin and love UT so this one stung a little. Good luck to everyone else.

i applied early and i still haven't heard anything. I thought I'd be a lock, after looking at last year's LSN graph. starting to worry i've been dinged. Has anyone been rejected with a 167 3.8?

At least Texas is getting acceptances/dings out early. I appreciate expediency in a school (looking at YOU Cornell).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
