Re: Yale 2011 applicants
Well, there's one, at least. Congratulations!
For those who missed it, I was basing a prediction about the TLS/LSN crowd on LSN. I'm pretty sure that LSN is a reasonably representative sample of, um, LSN. I wasn't basing a prediction about the applicant population as a whole on LSN; that would obviously be silly. I actually that the TLS/LSN people apply disproportionately early, making them nonrepresentative in at least one respect.
One assumption that I made was that last cycle is representative of most cycles and not just a fluke, which I suppose I'll check at some point when I'm bored. Another thing that I don't know is how many people from TLS last cycle went and posted that they got into Yale immediately after they got in (another thing to check when bored), and how quickly the LSN numbers went up. We might not find out that today was a big day for LSN folks until the end of the cycle, when people input all their data.
Oh well. It would've been fun to have three or four people come back and be like AAAAAAAAUGHGUGH I GOT IN TODAY, but I get that's not what happened. Congrats to the one, at least, and good luck to everyone else.
Good luck surviving the next few weeks before calls come out, I mean. Try not to scratch your own eyes out in anticipation.

Nice! And even better to see the Harbaugh appreciation! 1-11 to 11-1 in 4 seasons gets coach of the year in my book...s0ph1e2007 wrote:Make that +1zabagabe wrote:Congrats all! That's fantastic news. Congrats again!!!
I'm guessing the surprise and excitement they hear on the other end of the line when they make an admit call is their favorite part of the job, or at least a major highlight - so I wouldn't worry about the blabbering. It probably made his day (in a good way).

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
Hey, looks like there were three on that Tuesday who posted on TLS. That is a pretty big day. Sweet! They were true to form. The next big day we can expect is the first HLS ASW, hilariously enough. (But there will be plenty between now and then, starting — apparently — as soon as the offices open back up, though they might not tweet it until a week or two later.)

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
So I just realized I put the wrong year for my graduation on my resume because I decided to graduate a semester early in December instead of continuing until May and forgot to change the date to 2010. I haven't received a complete email yet, so should I send a corrected copy? I'm planning emailing the office letting them know that I'm sending LSAC an updated transcript because my gpa went up. Would attaching a new resume in the same email be a good idea? Any thoughts??
Edit: And congrats to everyone who's in!

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
It does seem sensible to send one email, rather than two. If the only difference is graduating a semester early, you could mention that in the text of the email and then attach the corrected resume.

Of the many threads in the forums on this topic, this one has proven to be the most helpful for those I work with.. It's actual submissions; some got in and some did not. Hope it helps.
