Based on my timeline and what I saw on LSN, then you're looking at probably 12/22, but with the holiday break it may be first week or so of January.

I'm beginning to get a little worried given I went complete on 9/21/2010 with 3.57/159/OOS and haven't heard a peep back. Does anyone know if this is normal for Iowa?

Since no one answered my question , how about this one: Anyone else who got preliminary waitlisted get something in the mail? I want to know if we have been informed to send anything or not to, and how to send it?

I can't see the harm in this at all. It would show your enthusiasm and maybe give the adcomms that "push" needed to go accept instead of non-preliminary (lol) waitlist.

I checked my status and it said in review as of 12/02/10. I was complete on 11/24/10, but this school is a huge reach. It has still been relatively early, so maybe there is hope.

It's probably strategically wise to send an update or LOCI now. You're currently in a position to influence whether that preliminary waitlist becomes an acceptance, actual waitlist, etc., but you won't have the same momentum if you try to convert a regular waitlist into an acceptance.

Sure, I'd be happy to, although my response might be delayed since I'm studying for finals. If it makes you feel better, I can talk to my friend in admissions and get some insight about LOCIs for preliminary waitlists.

Is this the same as "In Review?"
