Based on my timeline and what I saw on LSN, then you're looking at probably 12/22, but with the holiday break it may be first week or so of January.brupe wrote:I haven't yet. I went complete on 11/3, then back out of complete, now I'm back to complete as of 12/2

Re: IOWA 2011
I'm beginning to get a little worried given I went complete on 9/21/2010 with 3.57/159/OOS and haven't heard a peep back. Does anyone know if this is normal for Iowa?

Re: IOWA 2011
Thanks everyone. I have never been to Iowa before, so will definitely visit the school.
Good luck to those who are still waiting and are on the preliminary wait list (referring to you Barbie).

For prelim. waitlists, should we send a letter of interest? I have new stuff to add to my resume, so I was thinking about writing a nice email to the dean about how I've continued to pursue law and gain experience in a top firm, etc, and that I am still very interested blah blah

Since no one answered my question
, how about this one: Anyone else who got preliminary waitlisted get something in the mail? I want to know if we have been informed to send anything or not to, and how to send it?

I can't see the harm in this at all. It would show your enthusiasm and maybe give the adcomms that "push" needed to go accept instead of non-preliminary (lol) waitlist.Barbie wrote:For prelim. waitlists, should we send a letter of interest? Re: IOWA 2011
I checked my status and it said in review as of 12/02/10. I was complete on 11/24/10, but this school is a huge reach. It has still been relatively early, so maybe there is hope.

Re: IOWA 2011
It's probably strategically wise to send an update or LOCI now. You're currently in a position to influence whether that preliminary waitlist becomes an acceptance, actual waitlist, etc., but you won't have the same momentum if you try to convert a regular waitlist into an acceptance.chrisbru wrote:I can't see the harm in this at all. A lot of people told me not to, but I sent one in anyways via email. JO would you mind taking a peek at it?

Re: IOWA 2011
Sure, I'd be happy to, although my response might be delayed since I'm studying for finals. If it makes you feel better, I can talk to my friend in admissions and get some insight about LOCIs for preliminary waitlists.Barbie wrote:A lot of people told me not to, but I sent one in anyways via email. On my status checker it says:
Admissions Decision: In Progress
Is this the same as "In Review?"
Thanks!
