Evaluation in Progress!!!

How long does it take after that?

Do they notify via email or snail mail?

I never even saw that my status changed to eval in progress. For me it took at most 14 days or so. I did not receive any notification. Just randomly checked my status this morning and the letter of acceptance was posted there.

K. Thx. Mind sharing stats? Any $$$?

no mention of money. But then again I am not exactly a lock at UC Davis, in fact I feel extremely fortunate that I got in at all.

Congratulations, Chouchous! Davis is a great school, definitely at the top of my list.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your LSAT/GPA? And did you have any interesting softs? I applied in early October, and I went in to evaluation a little more than a week ago. I've heard Davis takes a long time, but if you have heard already, maybe I will hear a decision sooner than I thought.

I wish they'd atleast update us on the status page, that december letter from the admissions office only adds to the disappointment of still awaiting evaluation.

Better than Hastings though i guess, i forget i even applied there sometimes.

8:00-8:30

Read one application

8:35-12:00

Play with the squirrels in front of Mrak Hall

12:00-2:00

Brief Lunch

2:00-3:00

Read two applications

3:00-4:00

Decide on one person to accept and then go home.


Believe me I would know I'm finishing up my undergrad here. I called the Dining Commons People once because my meal plan had not been updated to include more meals (I had no food) and this was a week after we had been off for some 3-day weekend. The lady on the phone said to me: well we just got back from a break so it's going to take us a while. A week to recover from your break. Really?!

I still <3 Davis though.

HAHA. That's hilarious. But lets be serious for one second.. It is highly unlikely that they read two applications in one hour, especially after lunch. They probably go into a food coma and get half way through one.

this scares me. I'm somewhat of a splitter, too (not as much as you). I really hope that your wl isn't indicative of Davis' attitude towards splitters. I really want Davis, and I just got the WL from Hastings. What's the deal w/ the west coast hating splitters? fuck.

I wonder this too. Does the midwest just have a thing about giving people second chances? Or does the west coast not have to admit splitters because people actually want to live there?

I got WL'd today too. Megasplitter. I'm surprised--I'm right around their 25th for GPA and well above their 75th for LSAT. I'm actually pretty bummed--I really liked the idea of Davis, especially since my wife's family lives nearby.

Yield protection? Late application? Just a shitty GPA that my LSAT couldn't overcome?

Time to go pout.

Those of you who have gotten a decision, how long were you "Evaluation in Progress"? Finally went into evaluation almost 2 weeks ago and I'm just wondering how long of a wait I have.

I'm in!! Couldn't be happier

I went complete 11/6, under review 2/3, and decision rendered 2/11.

I found out through the status checker, no e-mail or anything yet.

GPA: 3.79. LSAT: 163. Non-URM.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!! Hang in there, it does take a while..... 3 months in my case. But the actual review only took about a week if that's in any way encouraging..

Everybody is so despondent. IN almost every board for almost every school. Maybe because I applied only in mid-late December apathy hasn't set in as much for me (I'm getting there) but it seems like the general mood for everybody waiting is just "F*ck it"

I'm still "awaiting evaluation" or at least I was last time I checked. It would be so ironic and odd if I got WL or dinged at every CA school except Loyola and yet get into almost all of the ones I applied to out of state.

Thanks Liz!! I never thought I'd be so un-enthused with an acceptance to UCD, because when I applied, I really wanted to go. And, of course, I have AGGIE PRIDE! And I absolutely <3 Davis as a town. I have become super debt averse after reading all this stuff here on TLS and ATL. =/

Eval in Progress 1/21 ---> Decision Letter Sent PDF link 2/11

Yeah I am beyond thrilled about UW... no doubt. Pretty much the only school that could change my mind right now is Boalt.
