Calm down, people. Take deep breaths.

No, two decisions hardly means all of them are rejections.birD wrote:crappp so we can assume all these decision renders are rejections? mine says rendered on 11/30
Above both 75s, but I still have no idea what to make of this.gz5hc9 wrote:coastguard and deuce, how do your numbers compare to BC's medians? a couple days ago, it seemed that the only people (myself included) with decisions rendered thus far are those with lower numbers, i.e. likely rejections.
Glancing on LSN, it seems BC practices YP. They waitlisted a decent number of people between 166 and 168 (last year's median was 166). Maybe they do it because BU is just as selective, but has a more enticing location and a better national reputation?Deuce wrote:Above both 75s, but I still have no idea what to make of this.gz5hc9 wrote:coastguard and deuce, how do your numbers compare to BC's medians? a couple days ago, it seemed that the only people (myself included) with decisions rendered thus far are those with lower numbers, i.e. likely rejections.

+1. BC knows I love them, though. I am a reapplicant and got WL last cycle, so I sent in a good LOCI. If that letter didn't express my enthusiasm for BC, I don't know what would.why do people ask if others wrote a Why BC essay. the application did not offer this as an option.
I would imagine every law school tries to boost its rank every year (with the possible exception of Boalt). If BC could raise their median a point, they undoubtedly would. But will they be in such a position? That's the question.nematoad wrote:BC might also be trying to boost its ranking for next year. which would mean higher medians :/
Actually it's part of the Personal Statement.gz5hc9 wrote:why do people ask if others wrote a Why BC essay. the application did not offer this as an option.
Every school is trying to raise its medians.nematoad wrote:BC might also be trying to boost its ranking for next year. which would mean higher medians :/
well iowa and indiana are ahead of themHeavenWood wrote:I would imagine every law school tries to boost its rank every year (with the possible exception of Boalt). I would have to argue against that assessment of GW. GW was at 20 dropped to 28 and is back to 20. The reason it dropped was due to the way part time program is assessed so the comparison with BC is not exactly the same.nematoad wrote:well iowa and indiana are ahead of themHeavenWood wrote:I would imagine every law school tries to boost its rank every year (with the possible exception of Boalt). BC's lay prestige is higher than a fair amount of schools in the 20-28 range so yeah? maybe? i dunno. but GW did this very thing over the last 2 years and made their way from 28 to 20 last year.

yeah but theirs a big difference between trying and actually succeeding. realistically, not every school is going to be able to raise its medians and I'd venture to guess that school's with higher lay prestige and in good locations have more success at pulling it off.RPK34 wrote:Every school is trying to raise its medians.nematoad wrote:BC might also be trying to boost its ranking for next year. which would mean higher medians :/

The main reason I applied to BC was because I've literally always attended Jesuit schools. Even my grade school was attached to a Jesuit parish.BC's lay prestige is higher than a fair amount of schools in the 20-28 range so yeah? maybe? i dunno.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be the worst weekend of my life.Hope everyone is able to have a relaxing weekend!
So you have the same status every time, but it just keeps changing the date that it was updated?LawSchoolPorFavor wrote:Just checking in to see if anyone has had a similar pattern on their status checker:

My date hasn't changed since going under review on 11/5. I highly doubt this means much of anything.RPK34 wrote:So you have the same status every time, but it just keeps changing the date that it was updated?LawSchoolPorFavor wrote:Just checking in to see if anyone has had a similar pattern on their status checker:

I really hope not, my law school choice is certainly going to come down to rank vs. $$$$, and at this point of my life $$$$ is outweighing rank. I'm hoping to land big schollys from schools I'd love to attend, and BC would definitely fall into that category.HeavenWood wrote:Glancing on LSN, it seems BC practices YP.
