Not necessarily. It took an inordinately long time for my letter to reach me (well over a week), and I live in northern Illinois. They may just have a crappy mailroom/representative at the post office.

Well they say they mailed mine 3 weeks ago. I'm beginning to think they don't love me anymore.

Since I got mine today (accepted 12/17).. you should get yours by next week, if not earlier.towkthi wrote:They said they mailed my acceptance packet 12/22 and I have still not received itdmgreen86 wrote:ArghItsBlarg wrote:Not necessarily. Congratulations to those with scholarships! I'm really hoping that this means my letter will come today or tomorrow (I was accepted Dec 17th).... I'm excited about Kent and really hoping for money!
If you don't mind sharing, those who got scholarships recently, what are your numbers and how much money?

DePaul 15K/year
Kent 20K/year
Loyola (waiting for money)
W/L at U of I... that's a compliment in my book.

Nope, 5'9 white kid from the Midwest lol
My resume was very good and I posted an addendum for my LSAT with my ACT and SAT scores, of which I comically scored in the 21%. Yet I rank in the top 9% of my university, I believe that's why they overlooked my squalid LSAT score and focused on everything else, unlike those assholes at Depaul haha

Finally got my packet in the mail today. I still have to hear back from a bunch of schools, but as somebody interested in IP Kent is sounding very, very enticing.

Sounds like you have a chance depending on your resume and where you did your undergraduate work.
Good luck and keep us posted!!!

165/3.67
Got Chicago-Kent IIT acceptance packet on 1/3.
In with full tuition yr. 1, and renew with at least a 3.25 GPA for 20K per year.
Withdrew last week because it would still cost me more overall than some of my other in-state options, but it was fun to think about living in the Windy City.
Good luck to all.

Re: Chicago Kent - Prospective Class of 2014
What is everyone's opinions on Kent's scholarship offers? My offer contains two choices:
1. 20k/year renewable with a 3.25, or renews at 10k with a 3.0
OR
2. 12k/year no string attached.
I believe 3.25 is around top 1/4 of the class. I'm hesitant to gamble 40k on making top 25%, but 12k/year probably isn't a good enough offer for me to go. It is possible to negotiate the terms of a scholarship- ask them to remove the stipulations? I know some people got a 20k offer with no strings.
