I feels as though Im like the only college student not obsessed with harry potter. I read part of the first one and saw the first movie and was just like "meh" so Ive been behind ever since. Of course, I also didnt hear a Justin Bieber song until like a year into his popularity, thought all the taylor swift songs were new vanessa carlton songs until a couple months ago and just recently discovered Ke$ha isnt pronounced like key-sha.dulcatis wrote: And if they fixed that whole my-family-hates-Michigan thing. Oh dear. I sense OCD tendencies in the near future.Knock wrote:Depends on the school. I'd say most do email, some do phone calls, some do snail mail. Does Michigan not send out e-mails with status checker info? My report was transmitted on Nov. 3, and I still haven't gotten one.

It usually takes them 2~3 weeks to send it I think.MPeterson wrote:Does Michigan not send out e-mails with status checker info? My report was transmitted on Nov. 3, and I still haven't gotten one.
ETA: Knock beat me to it

Also, guys, apparently Mich can tell how many times you've checked the status checker - I remember someone saying on TLS that there were wayyyyyy too many people last cycle and the adcomms weren't amused, or something like that. So maybe keep it down to once every five minutes instead of every 5 seconds?

I think that's just the admitted students website, not the status checker. That's the whole purpose of the status checker.beleaguer wrote:Yeah I remember reading that..I think they mentioned something about how they thought it spoke to the student's neuroses?kazu wrote:Ummm lemme look for that thread, I don't remember the specificsdulcatis wrote:At least the stationery Georgetown used was pretty?tkgrrett wrote: So far for me:

Just submitted RD
I'm a little late to the game, but hopefully my ED will bite and it'll all be moot! I would love to go to Michigan if not though.

Oh phew. And I'm sure a few of us trying (and failing) once won't be that bad, we just shouldn't make that our way of checking our status.kazu wrote:Here's the direct quote dulc:kazu wrote:Ummm lemme look for that thread, I don't remember the specificsdulcatis wrote: Wait WHAT they can check? Re: Michigan 2011
It was literally just an acceptance letter on card sized stationary. I mean, nothing was wrong with it.. but just kind of anti-climatic compared to the huge packets I got from the other schools. Plus, Georgetown/DC is one of the schools/places I have never been and a viewbook with pictures and info about the area wouldve been nice.beleaguer wrote:How was it anti-climatic?tkgrrett wrote: So far for me:

Obviously, I can easily look up most of this stuff online so it isnt necessary.. it was just kind of a letdown I suppose.

maybe it is because gulc doesn't really have a campus? has anyone visited there? i loved the Georgetown area, then realized the law school was downtown (and 3 or 4 buildings)
fwiw, I am definitely a sucker for big hi-def pictures in viewbooks....

Re: Michigan 2011
I'm applying ED to Michigan. I went on a tour of Michigan and I'm familiar with the GULC area and have seen the facilities but haven't been on a tour of the law school. GULC is nice in it's own way and I think they just got part of the road that runs through. Certainly not comparable to Michigan, but it isn't a negative anyway. The one good thing about not being in Georgetown is housing within reasonable distance won't literally break the bank. The Stig wrote:I would agree with this... lots of pretty pictures in the umich brochures.tkgrrett wrote:It was literally just an acceptance letter on card sized stationary.
