Same here only I'm not ED. Has anyone been able to contact the admissions office? I'm a bit worried now but I'm positive that I sent everything...

I called them and they confirmed that they had all my materials, including my ED contract. So I don't know what the deal is.

I'm under review, but definitely not an auto admit. 172/3.4 submitted 9/15

Thanks for calling & sharing the info.....a bunch of people apparently got admitted to NYU last year w/o even receiving a "complete" email (and last year I don't think NYU had status checkers) so I'm just going to hope that they're not really diligent about updating these things.

I wonder why some people are UR, while others aren't. I don't really think I'm an auto-admit (171, 3.99) but I'm a little concerned/impatient that I'm not yet under review and still in processing (10/25).
I guess we should wait a few days and see? Sigh.

submitted 10/28 UR 11/08
173/3.4 URM
edit: I do want to mention though how unlikely I think it is that they separated ALL the thousands of applications into auto-admit, deny, and non auto-admit piles
just FYI

This def happens at some schools. I've had an admissions officer tell me that.

Why not? They can electronically sort them and print them out into piles.

+1
And NYU is notorious for being a number cruncher school.

idk
i think ive been out-reasoned, but I guess initially I thought this just because it's NYU... I don't think I qualify as an auto-admit

lol, I don't know how much reasoning was necessary. It would just take a simple query of the database to do what you suggest.

Good sign, bad sign or no correlation between speedy processing/review and acceptance?

How would we know. No one has been accepted yet.

lol, this is only useful if you have both people who are UR and who are not UR post their stats.
I have the same numbers and submitted earlier than someone else in this thread who is UR, yet I'm not, so I doubt it's just based on numbers alone.

Sure, but we collectively draw arbitrary lines through everything else. One more subject shouldn't be excluded from our wisdom simply because we have no readily available anecdotes.
Come now, pick one.
