Same here only I'm not ED. Has anyone been able to contact the admissions office? I'm a bit worried now but I'm positive that I sent everything...vicuna wrote:I have "Application being processed" since 9/25. Does anyone else have this? Perhaps because I'm ED?

I called them and they confirmed that they had all my materials, including my ED contract. So I don't know what the deal is.kazu wrote:Same here only I'm not ED. Re: NYU 2011
Thanks for calling & sharing the info.....a bunch of people apparently got admitted to NYU last year w/o even receiving a "complete" email (and last year I don't think NYU had status checkers) so I'm just going to hope that they're not really diligent about updating these things.vicuna wrote:I called them and they confirmed that they had all my materials, including my ED contract. Re: NYU 2011
I wonder why some people are UR, while others aren't. I don't really think I'm an auto-admit (171, 3.99) but I'm a little concerned/impatient that I'm not yet under review and still in processing (10/25).
I guess we should wait a few days and see? Sigh.

edit: I do want to mention though how unlikely I think it is that they separated ALL the thousands of applications into auto-admit, deny, and non auto-admit piles
just FYI

This def happens at some schools. I've had an admissions officer tell me that.s0ph1e2007 wrote:submitted 10/28 UR 11/08

Why not? They can electronically sort them and print them out into piles.s0ph1e2007 wrote:submitted 10/28 UR 11/08

And NYU is notorious for being a number cruncher school.

i think ive been out-reasoned, but I guess initially I thought this just because it's NYU... I don't think I qualify as an auto-admit

Re: NYU 2011
lol, I don't know how much reasoning was necessary. It would just take a simple query of the database to do what you suggest.s0ph1e2007 wrote:idkim_blue wrote:Why not? They can electronically sort them and print them out into piles.s0ph1e2007 wrote:submitted 10/28 UR 11/08

Good sign, bad sign or no correlation between speedy processing/review and acceptance?

Re: NYU 2011
lol, this is only useful if you have both people who are UR and who are not UR post their stats.
I have the same numbers and submitted earlier than someone else in this thread who is UR, yet I'm not, so I doubt it's just based on numbers alone.

Sure, but we collectively draw arbitrary lines through everything else. One more subject shouldn't be excluded from our wisdom simply because we have no readily available anecdotes.CastleRock wrote:How would we know. No one has been accepted yet.chaosnoodlesoup wrote:Sent: 11/02
