Congratulations to those who got in.
I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm getting tired of these cryptic "there will be more movement" tweets. Either be transparent about what is going on or don't say anything at all. Don't torture us.

Hey all,
NU admit here. NU sent us an email asking us to fill out a suvery re: our intent to enroll. It forces you to tell them whether you're on the waitlist somewhere else and haven't withdrawn and also if you've changed your mind about attending.
I would expect that right after July 9th there will be more movement on the wait list.
Maybe send some July 8th LOCI's to remind them how awesome you are?
Good luck to all of you

Ouch. Honestly, compared with jml my scores are ridiculously low. I think they gave me the benefit of the doubt with my GPA since it was in engineering. My acceptance was a complete shock and now I have to weigh the option of paying sticker at NU or attending GW with $$$.
Good luck to everyone still on the waitlist, there is hope!

+1. Don't think it's obvious though, I would have trouble with that choice too.NancyBotwin wrote:Shhhh. Some of us need that splitter spot.Aine wrote:NORTHWESTERN. Obviously.

Yeah, that's why it's taking me so long to decide. I wish one choice was obviously the right one. I'll let you all know when I figure it out.

Re: Waitlisted at Northwestern 2010
Well, yes, you're all correct. It isn't that easy. I'm obviously biased
But I think it depends, in part, on what you want to do with your JD. For instance, if you want to go public interest, I'd suggest you take the money and go to GW. If you want to get an appellate clerkship and go into litigation at a top firm, I'd suggest you go to Northwestern. I guess it just depends on which school best helps you get where you want to go.
Best of luck.
But I'm still rooting for NU

New Tweet:
"Waitlist decisions are being made as space becomes available. Theoretically, this will continue up until the first day of classes. "
notice that they have now added the "theoretically"... a marked change from "there will be more"... I really need to stop analyzing tweets... geez.

Re: Waitlisted at Northwestern 2010
Hey my fellow waiters for great news. I just got back onto the internet, was working overseas the last several months. I had hoped I would have snuck through admissions upon my return to the states, but no luck.
Looking at the tweets I would just think admission is more focused on transfers instead of waitlisters right now. Is anyone planning on writing another letter of interest?

I did and after some investigative work on Twitter I found that the question was regarding the LLM program. I am still on the look out for updates on the JD program.

Re: Waitlisted at Northwestern 2010
Hello all,
I’ve been watching from the sidelines periodically but figured it was high time I chime in. Has anyone been tracking the amount of members in the Facebook group titled “Official Northwestern Law Class of 2013”. Here is the link:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2 ... ref=search
I have watched this number steadily climb from the mid-100s since I was put on hold in late March to 269 now and thus have to wonder how many more spots will become available for candidates on the waitlist. Northwestern Law enrolled 272 first year law students last year so I am starting to lose hope and face the reality of spending the next three years of my life in Saint Louis.
I am thinking about calling during the Wednesday waitlist hours but am wondering if they will provide any meaningful information and updates (i.e. how many of us are left on the waitlist and approximately how many spots are typically offered from now until the first day of classes). I wonder if they plan to release candidates from the waitlist as in 2008 they had a Final Waitlist comprising 50 people. One of best friends who has completed 2 years at UCLA Law was on the Final Waitlist and withdrew from it. When I had called a two or three times in April/May, I got the same uninformed guy answering the desk so I would be curious if you all have any success calling them and if that was helpful.
@Aine – Thanks for your LOCI recommendation!
@ncct07 – Did they tell you anything else beyond the fact they are full? Were you able to talk with anyone important in admissions?
I just wish they would take all of us as Northwestern is my first choice. The number of enrolled students increased from 242 in 2008 to 272 last year so maybe they will add a few more people this year. Best of luck to everyone involved!

No; and No.@ncct07 – Did they tell you anything else beyond the fact they are full? Were you able to talk with anyone important in admissions?
They have tweeted that they theoretically will take people off the waitlist up until the first day of class, August 30th - the day the waitlist officially closes.
I do know someone who got in off the waitlist last year two weeks before class started....but, obviously, that would present a major dilemma for most waitlist applicants. I'm at the point where if I don't hear something very, very soon I'll have to move along.
But it kills me to think three weeks from now I might get the nod and it will be too late.

Re: Waitlisted at Northwestern 2010
Yeah, this whole process is really stressful. I have called the admissions office a few times and it's always the same guy and he spout out the same company line every time, "They can go to the waitlist all the way to the first day of class ". I even called myself tracking up to the school to do sone sightseeing and see if I could have a meet and greet with some decision maker but no luck.
I looked at the facebook page and don't know what to think. Looking back at past post I count at least 3 waitlisters who hot accepted but chose to reject the offer. Some of those 269 might be people who signed up and changed their mind or got a better opportunity. Guess this is the optimist in me coming out.
I know of at least 3 accounts of people getting accepted right before the school year started, but I do agree that the later this drags on the more of a hassle life can become. Like I said in my letter I am seeing this through to the very end. If fate doesn't shine on me I will reapply and consider taking the test again.
Best of luck to all still stuck in this abssy.
