I applied in early January. I'm hoping to hear back by mid April at the rate this seems to be going at. Meh.

I'm surprised people with 157's are getting deffered, considering their median is 159 and 25% is 156. Maybe those #'s are outdated. 159/3.5 haven't heard anything yet, btw.

They take the highest but can see all scores (however, I really think they only care about the highest score).AngelAuthor wrote:The admissions Dean told me they were starting to review apps after the Thanksgiving Holiday. They're just slow. But I do have to give them props on getting out their EA decisions by the end of January as they said they would. I got my "hold" e-mail Sunday night the 31st.
Anyone know how ASU deals with multiple LSAT scores? Do they take the average or just the highest one? I've already signed up to take the June LSAT (my 2nd attempt), in case I get the bad news for this year.

If you call admissions, I am sure they can track a student ambassador who has done the Indian Legal Clinic. I will say that ASU has some top notch Indian scholars so I would imagine that the clinic is great. I have heard nothing but good things about various clinics.aIvin adams wrote:i'd like to talk to someone who has participated in the indian legal clinic. it says its a big deal on asu's website but i dunno if they're tootin their own horn or if it's really a program that can prepare you for tribal courts.

I received a phone call from a representative of one of the law school programs at ASU, but have yet to hear from the admissions office. I am starting to get nervous!

Anything new? I am in at Phoenix School of Law with $15K/yr. Not all that exciting but at least somebody is willing to be my friend for a discount...

Bah stupid Abanet.org has it's numbers incorrect. Oh well, I'm still between the 25th and 50th percentiles. Hope I get lucky.mposner wrote:From the Website for my year:StoneontaState wrote:They didn't start reviewing apps til end of January.Yellowcard wrote:Why is ASU taking so long to figure out whether or not students are admitted or not admitted? In today with very weird scholarship...Full ride 1st year, 20k (out of 32k OOS) 2nd year, and no mention of 3rd year. I'll be withdrawing soon, so hopefully someone else gets that money.

I spent all day this last Thursday at ASU. I had an amazing visit and felt like my coming to the school was their highest priority. I went to Arizona on Friday and had a very different experience.
To say the least ASU is hovering towards the top of my list, where U of A fell off of the list completely.

Maybe you can establish residency by the third year?

They front load scholarships... It is weird, but it is how they approach things believing you will have residency in years 2 & 3 and have increased earning capacity to be able to pay the bills.quickquestionthanks wrote:Mroberts3 wrote:In today with very weird scholarship...Full ride 1st year, 20k (out of 32k OOS) 2nd year, and no mention of 3rd year. If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the specific experiences you had at U of A? Haven't been there yet but they're high on my list.

I'm becoming super frustrated by the complete lack of communication. I am scheduling a trip out west to visit some schools and Tempe is a long way out of the way, so I'm skipping it for now because it could be a colossal waste of money/time if I wind up not admitted. Anyone have any luck with the admissions office in getting info? We are getting pretty flippin close to the wire here as far as plunking down money for a seat at other schools

Same here. I'm visiting U of A in a few weeks. I would like to hear from ASU by that point.Midnight Rider wrote:I'm becoming super frustrated by the complete lack of communication. Finally got my acceptance binder. This thing is a wealth of information. Definitely gives ASU some serious bonus points in my mind!

From the updates on LSN, it looks like they are still working on late November/early December apps.

Re: What's up with Arizona State (ASU)?
Well, I was standing in the admission office at ASU this morning and the student advisor was calling names out of a big fat book on the phone, congratulating people and offering services. Thing is - all the people in that book have already gotten their letter. It was a big book. Very intimidating to a person who hasn't gotten their letter yet.

I called the admissions office today and was informed that a decision letter was mailed out yesterday (3/10). My app was sent on 12/28. I am in state with GPA <25% and LSAT >75%, I hope it's good news.

Thank you! The woman asked for my name, lsac #, and date of birth. The admissions packet comes in a large envelope, correct? If it's a small legal sized envelope I probably won't even want to open it....
