I didn't get a chance to send an LOCI, but I did visit the school in person.

I've just withdrew my application to Hastings-hope it helps anyone on the waitlist-I wish the entering class of 2010 all the best-the admissions team was great and it was a very hard decision for me.

On another note, are any accepted peeps that filled out the fin. aid documents many weeks ago still waiting for a financial aid package? I filled out my FAFSA and the Need Access App. in early March. They confirmed receipt of the documents in late March and I still don't have any hard numbers. Grr. It's difficult to decide where to attend given this uncertainty. I wonder if they are still deciding how to dole out merit aid/need aid. Any thoughts?

I got notice of my merit based scholarship in early April after finishing the fin. aid docs in mid March and got the entire fin. aid package like a week later. :-/ sorry I don't know if that's helpful at all. maybe call their financial aid office?

So, I just stumbled upon this thread for the first time in like two weeks, having been told by the admissions office in the last week of April that I need not send my second LOCI until later in May, b/c they won't be making WL offers until mid-May at the earliest. He told me they do not require (read: do not look kindly on/do not read) extra LORs, but that LOCI and updated resume are helpful, only NOT NOW ws the message. I told them thanks, and that I would lay low for a while.
Now there a bunch of folks getting an email, and indeed some folks getting offers off the WL, in the past week.

So, I seek advice: the adcomms said that they have noted my string interest for now, so sending a LOCI may just repeat myself. But I don't want to wait till the end of May if activity is happening right now. The question: will sending LOCI # 2 + updated resume help me, despite their suggestion to me?
One argument is that the LOCI and resume give substantive info. related to me and to Hastings that sells my strengths, and bolsters my "file." In that regard, "noted interest" does not suffice to make the needed impact.
The other argument is that they know what they are doing, and that if they decide to extend me an offer off the WL in the coming week, it will be based on what they know right now + my "noted interest." Sending them LOCI + resume won't change what they were planning to do anyway, and might just irk them.

What should I do?

Yes! I'd love to go to either school. I'm having a hard time trying to stomach the Tuition + COL though. :/
