Re: Wake Forest 2010
No, I have a house to sell and a wife that needs to be employed if I am to go to Wake, my first choice.
However, if neither of those things happen, I'll be at SMU, and I don't want to lose my money there.

Can someone remind me how much the first deposit is for admitted scholars on April 1st?

It is $300 (as is the 2nd deposit). The address can be found on the Admitted Students site, under "Next Steps".eye wrote:Can someone remind me how much the first deposit is for admitted scholars on April 1st?
Hope that means you plan to attend. I am, so I'm excited to see others who will be joining me.

Do you know if the deposit has to be in the administration's hands by Thursday (April 1st) or if it has to just be postmarked by then?

Yay!! I'm excited for all my future classmates!!
Quick question, does Wake split the class up into 3 or 4 sections?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
I imagine if its post marked before april 1, and you e-mail them something tno the effect of "I just sent my deposit in the mail and look foward to attending" when you send it, you'd be fine. I cant imagine theyd reject you because your deposit didn't physically come by the date.PirateCap'n wrote:Do you know if the deposit has to be in the administration's hands by Thursday (April 1st) or if it has to just be postmarked by then?tstyler98 wrote:It is $300 (as is the 2nd deposit). I would just make sure that they know (have some one respond to you) that you are committing. Better yet, call them and tell them/ask them about the whole situation.
I think if you are making the effort they are going to be 100% on your side.

They do 4 sections. And, they have the tentative schedule up on their website. You can find it here: http://law.wfu.edu/registrar/registration/lml09 wrote:jegnyr wrote:Woot woot! Just walked my deposit to the mail box.

The classes for 1L are Torts, Civ Pro, Crim, and Contracts. The first number (XXX) is the course number, and the number after the dash (1-4) is the section. I don't think we'll find out which section we're in until end of July or early August.

Holy schnikes, selling a house is a pain in the ass. I almost want to just go to SMU and quit having to sign and notarize papers.

Whoa whoa whoa. Does this mean classes do not start until 9? I had 7:30 am or 7:45 am classes all through undergrad. This is orgasmic.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
So, out of boredom, I printed out the schedule and color coded all 1L classes (pink for section 1, green for section 2, so on) and we all start classes at 9 am and get out at 3 pm (last class at 2 pm) except on Fridays when our last class starts at 1 pm. I feel better kind of knowing what is going on but also terrified because it seems like it's coming way too quickly!
I tried to share the schedule with my parents but my mom started strategizing and telling me I had to be in either section 2 or 3 and wouldn't listen when I tried to tell her I had absolutely no choice.

Yeah, the only one that sucks is Section 1...they go from 9-2 on Mondays with no break (if you have the Legal Writing section that day).lml09 wrote:So, out of boredom, I printed out the schedule and color coded all 1L classes (pink for section 1, green for section 2, so on) and we all start classes at 9 am and get out at 3 pm (last class at 2 pm) except on Fridays when our last class starts at 1 pm. Deposit in the mail. Looking at the schedule provided me an entertaining afternoon as I waited for the NCAA tourney to resume.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Attended the Open House on Fri, and it was very well put together. The students were absolutely fabulous, not that other schools don't have happy and excited tours also. Just felt like Wake had a very genuine feel to it. I can't describe it, just something you feel and recognize at once. Sat in on an upper-level evidence class which was awesome. Actually, two students were writing their notes. They are diversifying their clinics a lot more. Also, the faculty is very receptive to students creating clinic ideas which have manifested. You just have to do your groundwork and present a solid framework, and they will work to birth it or some other form of community/social outreach. The library was cool, and you get your own cubicle as a 1L, no lottery format. Professors are very receptive to you dropping in on them for clarification/questions. For some who are still waiting for acceptance, there were a lot of D.C./Virginia attendees who are still unsure about where they're going. See you guys at the House Hunt in June.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
